Cheap EGT sensor/aftermarket?!

19 January 2013 - 05:13 PM

Anyone know where you can get cheaper EGT sensors for an SDI? Or are there any aftermarket sensors that are cheaper?? I was thinking of if anyone also has ever just used a generic sensor in their sled?

I'm talking about the sensor that goes to the ECM and not a aftermarket gauge.

I am trying to avoid getting ripped off by the dealer for this stupid sensor!

Also I am NOT replacing it with a resistor.

05 600 SDI Throwing code and going into limp mode after high RPMs

25 December 2012 - 05:26 PM

We all went out for a ride last night and my daughter was riding an 05 MXZ X 600 SDI and in a straightaway she said after cruising at 80 mph she said she gave WOT and as soon as she did the sled started to slow down and went into limp mode (wouldn't go over 5000 RPM with the check engine light blinking)

When we stopped I turned the sled off and started it again, the check engine light wasn't blinking anymore but the sled was still in limp mode. So I changed the plugs to see if it would do anything and that took about 10 minutes and when I started the sled up it wasn't in limp mode and seemed to be fine.

After riding more she gave er again in a straight away and didn't go WOT because she was worried it would happen again and as soon as the RPMs got high the same thing happened, sled slowed down and went into limp mode and check engine light started flashing.

Just drove home in limp mode but after letting the sled sit for awhile in the shop for a few hours I started it up without doing anything to the sled and wasn't in limp mode anymore and seemed to be fine.

Any ideas? Ill add that my daughter races snocross in the boys class so she knows how to ride and wouldn't have done something stupid while givin er.

I'll add that last night was very cold, if that has anything to do with it? And that I have no clue what code it is spitting out but want to try and avoid a trip to the dealer ship to get it scanned if there isn't an actual problem.

BV2S Helmet Problems - Warranty?

26 November 2012 - 02:20 PM

I bought a BV2S helmet last year and it was slick. This year went for the first ride and it started to fog inside the 2 layers on the visor!! obviously this is a manufacture defect but i'm pretty sure they only come with a 1 year warranty and the helmets over a year old. Any success with getting these things fixed even if they're out of warranty?

Also not sure if this is a defect or it just happens but we found some powder and this would be the first time i rode with the helmet on in powder and every time I would hit a drift and snow would hit the front of the sled and up into my face, I would get snow inside the helmet! and it would instantly freeze to the inside of the visor! does this happen to anyone else?

Puncture wound to the nun in a very weird spot... Possibly tweaked but

23 January 2012 - 02:29 PM

Was riding the other day and heard a bang but thought I just drove over a log or something so just kept on riding. This morning I was looking over the sled and it looks like a stick somehow got up into the a arms between the upper a arm and punctured the nun!

I have never seen this before at least not in this spot, everything else on the nun is straight. The shock is centered in the A-arms but the spring is rubbing to one side. So I need some opinions, the nun is obviously shot and needs to be replaced but I was hoping I could wait til summer. Do you think its tweaked enough to be unsafe? It is tweaked below the  shock mount but is it safe to ride? The aluminum is dented but there is also a crack in the dent.
