safari lxe

25 November 2011 - 12:06 PM

I have a 1991 safari lie that wont run right when it gets warm. It will run all out on a stand and first starting out but when it gets warm/hot it wont run past 20mph. It was sitting in a barn for years so I clean the carbs good and put new plugs in it. The compression is 125 on both cylinders. Im thinking maybe cdi box or coil. Anybody have any input or experience that can help would be appreciated

SLED DONE NEED SNOW

13 October 2011 - 05:22 PM

I bought the sled at the end of last winter and only got to drive it 2-3 times. So this summer I decided to doo some basic things and clean it up. It was told it was "trail converted" but when I took the carbs apart to clean them I found out there was 230 mains. The hot start was also connected. So basically the previous owner only changed domes and called it converted. Can't asume that everyone knows what there doing. Glad I did'nt drive it more or I would more than likely blown it. I got new jets installed and hot start unplugged. I still gotta clean the plastics up a little more, paint the windsheild, throw some stickers on, and polish the tunnel. Heres a couple pics let me know what ya think.
