i've got the gps version, works great never had it in a case and performed wonderfully, grab a 32GB card for it though, the 1080p takes up alot of space. i use the switch inside to do a medium res and a highres setting so its easily switchable and saves some space. only downside is that the editing software from contour is horrible and anything else you use doesn't export the gps data.

You can use DashWare software (Windows) to combine GPS data with the movie, add speed gauges, track maps, altitude, g sensors etc. It is like $49 and works flawless, I created a lot of movies with it and then process them in iMovie or Final Cut, also you can use Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects to do even more with the maps, but it gets little more complicated with Adobe, if you lern to use it, you can create all crazy thinks. Me personally I'm ok with gauges and simple maps that I get using DashWare and Final Cut Pro over Apple. I guess there is video edition software included in Windows as well but I have never use it and just stick with what I know. There is a movies here in prior posts that I uploaded so you can see how it looks like. It was like 2 hrs work time to create it.

I think for sea level, turn the little red center piece all the way in, and then back it off to the first click.

Yes thats correct, but if you have like hour or two you can doa little RAVE mod to see if the 1st click is good for your machine and if they are open +/- at once. Check the link here to:
http://www.dootalk.c...y/page__st__105
Page 1 of the topic explains how RAVE works and the rivet mod and page 8 is what I did on mine, its simple.
Then just let it well warm up to the motor and run some RPM's and make the adjustments - then forget about it (just recheck from time to time)

And yes all the oil in the RAVE belows is normal, thats why it is good to clean it at least every 1200-1500 miles ( or every 2-3 seasons)

Here is the cleaning plate and done job with the mod
