Pull all the foam from under hood/ engine bay. When it gets wet/freezes it adds weight.

First thing did was knee pads. :righton

sorry no pics of just the knee pads though

Oh and a temp gauge...pretty sure that was under $50 and I feel very necessary.

I'll start with my post forward, pretty well known mod, supposedly helps carve and sidehill easier (I haven't ridden it this way yet).

The picture shows the holes in the back, where the rear mounts of the post used to go. Simply take the bolts out push the post forward, put one of the bolts back in, drill out the front hole, second bolt in and you're good to go.

Total cost-$0

Second, already have a post on this but I'll put it here too, instead of spending $400 to $500 on a seat I made my own out of the stock seat.

Lastly for now, I didn't like the way the clear tank looked, but I needed to still be able to see how much fuel I had in the tank. So I got some plastidip to give the tank a plastic coat and to be able to leave part of it clear to still be able to check my fuel level

Posted Image

And so I can still see in the tank I left this clear...
Posted Image

Total cost-about 35 dollars for the plastic coating.

First one for me (since I have giant feet) is to cut the panels open for more foot room, it doesn't move you more forward, but it certainly helps get your feet in/out/etc. After being "hooked in" the stirrup and getting my foot broke on my first REV, this seems to help a lot.

Second, and while I haven't rode with it yet, it will certainly help me out. I'm a bigger guy, and always seem to find the RER button at in-opertune times, so I did the switch relocation mod that Irondog had done quite a few years back, I'm looking forward to it thats for sure!

Printing some graph paper online and carefully laying it out on your panels and drilling a 5/64" grid pattern is good for some cheap/easy/free venting too.

old picture of my sled, but when i still had the stock running boards, i took a piece of masking tape and masked from the snow flap mount to the drop bracket and trimmed my tunnel to have a nice even rise instead of the weird stock style, and i cut my running boards and raised them up.

i also did the switch relocate. i used a buzzer button from ace for the reverse and toggle switches for the hand warmers and lights.

go to home depot and ask for some "pet screen". i did a headlight delete and use a small fog light from oriely's, and replaced the stock metal screens with the pet screen. i used hot glue and its pretty strong actually.

next is the 2 wheel kit! free if you have a tap set. these are not my instructions, i found them off of another site

cut the axle to 8 7/8"
cut the spacer to 4 1/4"
tap the axle with the correct metric threads, or use a 3/8 course SAE it works ok.

i have the DIY mods thread in the rev forum. this should be interesting also since it is a cheap mod thread.

i dont really have any cheap ones for the sled, more like additions that make it better like a muff pot and summit strap for the bars.

Hello here is a free mod or just the price of an extra pair or quick strap mounts, I have my goggles trimmed a bit where they lock on to my helmet at the quick strap mount so they will come off my helmet easier then the hard tug to get them to unclip off like when I need to wipe and clean them, but I never had a place to put them with out them fallin in the snow or slipping off the seat or dash so I trimmed the plastic mount and stuck it to the top of the controls so I can hang my goggles to my handle bars with out falling in the snow. sometimes when Im getting unstuck or need to go help a friend get unstuck I like to leave my helmet on but if I let my goggles hang from my helmet they seem to get filled with snow or swing and get in the way other wise if I leave them over my face they would fog up so I came up with this idea to set the goggles aside I also put the other velcro piece glued to the
bar pad for if I want to swap goggles I guess I could hang both pairs to the sled with out them falling off the sled.
this mod is actually Really handy.

also here is what I did for the footwell mod, I trimmed the side of the panel to the same shape as the inner mount.

Sway bar removal & stiffen up front springs (if it fits your riding style), removal of track clips (clipped every other/every third) small ports in ctr of track (1") clips & porting usually good for 3.5-4lbs on a 151 track. Spending some time to set-up clutching & suspension for YOUR riding style/ weight
