Hi:

I searched but couldn't find it but I thought somebody had mentioned that there would be a heavier spring available for the SWT in May. It was a racing spring and much heavier (like 80% or something).

Two questions:

Can anyone link me to the forum that talked about this?

Is it available yet - Is there a part #?

Thanks,

Between LB and Cains Guest, the back end is pretty much figured out (I'll let the boys explain that and promote their hard work)(I have heavier springs and new shocks from a gade X). Front end is not there yet but I know LB is working hard on that issue. With any luck we'll have heavier springs up front and maybe even a reworked or new shock that we can fit in there. I doubt there will be a bombardier part number associated with the springs but you never know. All options are being explored (even motorcycle fork springs). We definately need them. Both the SWT and WT hit hard and bottom the front end in any kind of agressive riding. It's hard not to ride the work horse agressively when you have lots of power and a nice skid. If I wasn't hooked on the benefits of the tub up front I would be looking to build a Skandpedition!!

No stiffer front springs from BRP after all. It tops out at 60lb/in - the stocker - and that's it. It appears that my inquiries on this prompted them to make a change in the race manual (among other changes). Rear end is tackled IMO, it's the front end that needs an upgrade now. I am working through Revel Shock Works & Eibach to develop a front suspension spring that is on the order of 120-150lb/in rate. It is tight in that strut but there is some room to increase the wire dia, pitch and subsequent rate.

The question is, would people on this forum buy these springs? I can think of 10-15 sets I could sell in a heartbeat if they were available at $150-200 per pair. For reference, the BRP stockers are roughly $100 for a pair. Let's see how much interest I can drum up. Post if you think you would buy.

FYI I was the one who was talking about the "Mar 2012" available spring. I guess BRP decided not to offer it after all.

Update: Eibach is willing to make a first production run on 25 pairs and they will be $200 + shipping per pair. If this first run sells out, we can make a bigger batch and that will lower the unit cost going forward but we need some pioneers first. I'm pretty sure I can sell 25 sets here in a jif, likely do a paid advert here and on the Tundra forums + eBay listing and they should go quick.

Suggestions?

LB:
I think those are good avenues. I'll definitely be up for a pair. I just emailed my dealer to see if they'd be interested in some. They moved a few WT's and SWT's last winter. I'm assuming the WT/SWT take the same springs on the pogo front end.

MY2011+ WT/SWT/Tundra all have the same struts/springs/shocks. I dare say we will have to approach some dealers once a few spring sets get out there. To be honest, I would say that dealers will be looking for them, the stock springs are just too soft.

Stiffer front suspension.

I don't mind forking out the $200...even knowing they will be cheaper down the road. Anyone who uses their machine hard (which is nearly all of us) will want these. I say bring in the 25 sets, sell on commission and get more free gear for you!! I'm probably good for a few sets (me, my buddy across the road who's finally getting serious about a SWT and one set for work).
