on my last trip, over a month ago, i was coming back down the trail from Allen Creek at Valemount, and on the last 1/4 mile I decided to open it up WFO. Just as I got wound out to top speed, my belt and clutch went BANG. When I took the belt off to change it, I noticed that the clutch seemed seized (secondary clutch). So we just towed it to the trailer, I put it in the shop, and have only started to look at it now.

When I removed the TEAM, I couldn't notice any physical mechanical damage anywhere in the clutch, however, the sliding sheave appears to have a worn bushing, and binds on the shaft. The bushing in the middle of the helix also seems a bit worn, and has some play when placing it back over the shaft as well. The sled only has 900 km on it, and had 80km when I bought it with the TEAM Tied. Has anyone every come across this? I also noticed I will need 2 new snap rings to keep it all together. I cleaned the clutch, put it back together, and as soon as the track spun on the jack stand, the internal snap ring let go and the clutch stuck wide open.

Also, if it is the bushings that are worn, they look like a ROYAL PITA to change. Can they even be changed?

Thanks in advance.

I broke the fixed half of my secondary clutch. Second option of floating clutch from Doodoctor which is assembled by Team. For some reason I can't upload the pics to Photo bucket. The fixed half broke where it was pressed/glued onto the sliding stub axle. The belt seamed to get stuck in between the sheaves. I think that was from the sheave binding on the helix. Is your belt even around where it contacts the secondary? You prolly won't be able to see a crack unless the clutch is completely disassembled and examined closely, Doodoctor warranted my clutch and I am on the way to post office right now to pick it up. Doodoctor sent me his original design as a replacement. Testing tomorrow.

Hmm. Ok i will take a better look later when back home. At a quick glance it looked fine, but maybe there is something lurking in there. The belt seems to be even, no odd markings anywhere.

The break on mine was hidden behind the plastic spring bushing. There is no way to see it without complete disassembly. Before you pull anything apart, elevate your track and run it to see if the fixed half wobbles.

How much wear do you feel is in the helix bushing? It sounds like the snapring may have got stretched during install. If you have problems please give us a call on the tech lien at 218 846 6305

You guys seem quite difficult together a hold of. No e-mail back, and phone always has a busy tone when I tried calling.

I might just get the stock qrs I have here floated. What are people's experiences between team tied and qrs performance?

Ive noticed that. It would also be a bit better if their website was more user friendly to actually find what you need. Oh well. Are BRP dealerships able to bring TEAM Stuff in, or are there any other places to deal with parts? If it becomes too much of a PITA to order stuff, I will have no problem gonig to the QRS that came with the sled. The previous owner took it off right away to put on the TEAM Tied, and the stock QRS has 0 miles on it from what I can see. Would be the perfect clutch to send to Doo Dr.
