The best Summit made is the one you just sold so you can buy a new one lol. I like my 05 well enough that i still have it. IMO the 05/06 are near the top. the 07's with the new 800R were hit or miss. i know some guys had no problem with them but others went through 3 or 4 motors. if i was looking for another sled i would be looking at the 10 or newer since it has a suspension update, the 11's have the
E-tech and nonported track. The new XM looks interesting but i am not willing to take the chance and buy a first year sled. but like i said that is IMO and i am sure there are others with diffrent views than mine.

I think I've had almost every one of them since 1996....for me, without a doubt the '13 XP etec....it has the most power, the lightest weight, the most track, the best fit and finish and zero problems.
I have had fun on every sled I've ever owned, but my '98 Summit-X 670 was also a very memorable sled....it wasn't until the 2nd year of the Polaris 800 that another stock sled would give it much competition on the hill.
Hopping on those older sleds now, I wonder how we had any fun at all....they have come a long ways! :righton

Another vote for the 2006 summit 800x 151. Mine is awesome. I can keep up if not outperform the new sleds. I rode with a guy who had a 2009 xp with a big bore and he swore up and down his old 2006 summit still was the best sled he d ever owned. I would like a little more seat time on an xp before I d buy one...there are some deals on all year xps right now!

I sure like my 09 XP. Only a couple mods necessary. It's about the lightest sled doo has ever made and 150 hp and it climbs like a goat. Do the newer sleds handle better? Probably but they're heavier too. And yeah, my ol 98x 670 stretched to a 156 killed so many 800's it wasn't funny. Well, I thought it was.

The best Summit ever made? That was the green one that Mark Thompson put over the top of Snow King mountain. IMO - because of that the mountain market really took off and we are where we are today. :D

I support the guy's with the BEST customer service..............

My Favorite Summit was my 2003.5 Mid season Rev Summit 800 ho 144 was a great sled great color combo and a blast to ride.
Runners up are my 1999 Summit 600 zx chassis, 2008 X 146 AND 154.

Haven't ridden it yet but my 2011 Summit X 800 etec 163 (just picked up last weekend) anxious to ride it.
