I had to send my 860 cylinders in for some warranty work so I put my ported 800 cylinders on and decided to see how they ran with the Jaws 860 twins. I was pleasently surprised that it runs sweet.
Current setup:
stock pistons
ported cylinders
bored carbs
470 mains
20 thou shim pos.3 07 needles
2 degree advance timing
RKTeck 14.8 head
Modified Jaws 860 Twins: stingers were 27mm replaced with 32mm

Here's a little clip:
1000ft of elevation gain 5500 to 6500
distance covered is half a kilometer
Egt's 1200-1230

I'm glad you are testing the cylinder porting for me. So when you do mine all of the R&D will have been done. I would hardly call that a race between you and the poo.

Eval Dave been real happy with this setup. Best one yet.

Dynamoe Joe these pipes really like 8400-8500. Clicked up and tried them at 8100-8200 and i'd swear they feel like they make 20hp less. Greg said they would like a little timing and upper rpm to work and I would have to agree.

@ tuknater: No. I run av gas to be safe. Kelsey recommend 50/50 av gas with the 14.8 head. But b/c he had not tested this setup and I found with these twins on my set up I was seeing signs of Deto mixing fuel. For the extra $10 a tank full I'll run straight.
