Thinking about going from a 1.25 to a 1.75. Do about 70 % trail 30%good snow abouts. Ditch banging, wheelies, boondocking.
DOO it..

if your 1.25 is a ripsaw the 1.5 intense will be night and day difference, 1.75 might be too much for your type of riding.

Don't know why you don't already have a 1 3/4" track on it already!

another option is the cobra 1.325. worked well on my buds 121. the ripsaw is a great trial track but with the fingers not much better than a 1" track off trail. I have 1.75 track now and it is great off trail but haven't taken it on much trail riding..

My last sled was a 08 Gade 800R. I geared it down two teeth and put on a 1.75. I was 50/50% off trail / on trail. I ran this sled for 7,000 miles. The sled was a blast off trail. The only time I got stuck was when I had a brain cramp and deserved it. You will have to work harder to keep up with your buds on trail. The 1.75 is harder to corner and can be harder to handle in the corners at times. It will also reduce your top speed, especially if you gear down. My sled was all wrapped up at 90MPH. It is your decision but for me, the 1.75 was worth it.

I also have a 1.25 on my renegade and I've been thinking about putting a 1.75 on it. Will it make that big of a difference for off trail? Also would I need to re gear? I do about 50/50 off trial and on. I want to get into more off trail!

See my previous post above.

You will notice a HUGE improvement off trail. especially if your 1.25 is a Ripsaw.

With the 1.75, when you whack the throttle, the sled will lift and move forward rather than trenching down and getting stuck. Gearing down improves this performance even more.

You will do way more off trail with a 1.75 track. If yer doing it right you will still get stuck you will just be stuck alot further in then with a 1.25 ^_^

They Say getting stuck is half the fun. Which means all my friend are having just as much fun pulling me out of the rubarb all the time.

Big difference.

It's not just the lug height, it's the design that makes the difference.

As for the re-gear, it makes sense to re-gear and re-clutch so you get the most out of the track.

1.5" sounds like it might be good for your riding style. 70% trail, 30% off trail. I guess it depends on how deep the off trail riding is that you do?

I have a 16x137x1.75 Camoplast Challenger with about 500 mountain miles on it that I planned on putting up for sale this fall. There are no tears or missing lugs and is like new. I spring ordered a Summit so I won't be using it any longer. I'd like to get $400 or so plus shipping. PM me if interested. :righton
