I just bought a 2003 rev 800 and it has a mbrp can on it. I was wondering what can I use to measure sound (program??) and what is the sound limit on the trails in wisconsin up north.

well i hate actually going into Crivitz personally but iv never been pulled over because of loud exhaust around that area. iv been pulled over for other things but that wasnt one of them and they never said anything about it.

i try and stay away from Lakewood and that area as much as possible though.....the DNR is always there in force.

you'll be fine

I think that is measured 4 feet away at the same height as exhaust and rev it up to 3k rpm's. Something like that if I remember correctly

even if you get a ticket if you actually want to fight it they will more then likely drop it...to many variables.

Sound isn't the only concern but it is a big one and not just avoiding tickets but for the good of the sport. Some areas state that any altered exhaust will get a ticket, period.Something to consider depending where you plan to ride.Look for a stock can so you can swap back and forth as required. Not preaching(too much) but trying to inform.

Don't worry, just go in front of the people who hate cans, and blip the heck out of your throttle, and hold it full out for a couple seconds. I had an 07 XRS 800, with an MBRP, and I can tell ya from experience, that thing is LOUD. The 03, is probably the same, LOUD. Go near a valley, or high hills and BRAAAAAAAP the heck out of it for a while and see for yourself. HAVE FUN, YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE. :ridedoo:

I think the limit is 89...But this post ^^^^^^^^^^ is one of the main problems... No sign of inteligence ^^^^^^ or respect..
