Looking to ad a little more reliable HP,Who is The GOOD--The BAD--AND WHO TO RUN AWAY FROM. How about duel ring pistons some say there great but they are the one's selling them. Who for porting the cyl. And what about the head mod, I don't want some head that I'd have to use race fuel I'm a Michigan trail rider. I already have a Cudney clutch kit and droped a tooth on the gearing for a little more low end. SLP says 20HP for $1900 with pipe,port,reeds,head. RK TEK says 20HP with there drop in kit for about $700 with there head and pistons (SOUNDS STRANGE TO ME).
My Sled Is 2006 Gade 800.

Spend a 100$ on repairable 800ho cylinders and buy an 827 from rk tek. ( can sell your used cylinders towards the cost , or keep em) If you are willing to spend 2000$ add porting and Vforce /Boysen .. Runs very strong and is relieble . This kit has been in use for so many years ..

You will gain about 20H.P in the mid if anything with the addition to porting and some more timing in the box... Mostly because of the head adding compression which is relative to adding timing.. I suggest giving Dale a call at D&D for porting and a pipe mod, which makes just as good as power as any pipe out there.. Making 196H.P out of Rev improvers.. And there is room for more...
Now is the time to call cause he is slow this time of yr.. You wont be dissapointed.

i dont have a big ported motor, but Ive heard LOTS of good stuff about the RK TEK, plus it cheaper and i thing th sled runns cooler too? ( due to the head)?

Thanks every one looks like RK TEK So Far just the drop in.
But still thinking about the 827.

Rktek's drop in kit works, ran one in my 07 gade, now it's going to be an 827, I am a bit power hungry I guess, had some poo rushes beat me last year with slp stuff on, going to take care of that with the 827 build...

If youre going with the rktek drop in, I have the rktek head and 13:1 domes I am wanting to sell. domes are like new and head is mint. 13:1 will run on pump gas. I would take 275$ plus shipping. that will save ya about 125$ over buying a new one and you'll be getting the same thing. Just an option for ya, I can email ya some pics so you know what it is. I can't use the domes for the 827 and I am going with a cheater head. pm me if interested. the head and domes are Rktek's newest design.

X2 - BJ is the Man! If you're thinking about going BB, then go with BJ's 840HO. Stock or BB either way - BJ will not dissappoint!

I have got the exact same machine. I am going with the rk tek drop in this summer as well.
