Would anyone have the info where to send a ecm. I need to get mine reprogrammed for a mod motor? I will be running the hot start button on 1/2 mile ovals and disconnecting it for the long straight aways at the soo!

What do you mean..disconnect it fo the long straights?

You only use it for 5 seconds on the start

If you unplug it...the engine will revert to trail specs.

Disconnecting the hot start button while using a RS mod ECM does nothing. They do not have two curves like like the older rev mod ecm's, they have one timing curve all the time. You need to call up Tom Lawrence, I know he took over the race program now but he used to be in charge of flashing the ECM's at the Wausau race department. He is not a fan of people calling and asking questions looking to trail convert mods, however, if you call him up and tell him that you are planning to race the Soo with it he will take care of you. I know they offer several race curves and even a "hot trail curve."

RS box can have up to 3 curves. trail race and hot start. You can put what ever you want in it. I believe he is trying to have a regular timing curve in the hot start curve so he can change the timing on the fly. I have a couple of boxes programmed by tom and have what i wanted for curves put in them.

Cool..

So..are you saying:

1 curve will work with hot button
Another curve when you unplug it

How do you get the 3rd curve.

Thanks

1. Button connected
2. Button disconnected
3. Button connected and depressed

If you can get enough pipe heat for starts without the preheat button, maybe look into using a toggle switch for your curves like the 03 440 had for 91/100 octane, instead of the preheat button. I believe it was just a hi/low headlight toggle switch. Could switch curves on the fly then.

This is true for a stocker ECM, however, the Mod ECM's must be re-flashed if you want to change them. If unplugging the hot start on a mod ECM did in fact do something there would be no need to send them in to get re-flashed with the "hot trail curve."
I guess he never really specified if he had a mod ECM or a stocker.

Its a stock ecm that will be getting the mod timing curves. The reason for having the 2 settings is i dont want the ecm going into a cross country mode when racing on a 1/2 mile track. Then when i unplug button my ecm is ready for the Xcountry mode/long straight aways at the Soo. Which is a excellant setting for there, as ive been racing there for many yrs!

But..I don't think the mod box is programmed to revert to the trail mode if the Hot button is unplugged..

I think??

How can it go to trail mode on a 1/2 mile..

Once you unplug the hot start button, the ecm goes to trail mode since it cant complete circuit.
