Looked at a Dynoport pipe for 800 08-10 800 xp tonight. It says 800 xp mtn on the bottom. Does Dynoport make two different pipes , one for low altitude and one for high ?

I'm sure it works well out west but I do most of my riding at 1500 feet or so. Just wondering if it is too tight for this altitude.

So how did you like the pipe overall, I'm running the CPI on mine and sled works great but I wouldn't mind a bit more top end outta the sled.

Lol , he already gave his opinion to me , but ya know , it never hurts to have a few. This CPI has worked so well for me and I hate to change but I am on the quest for more mph and the higher running rpm of the Dynoport might just get that for me.

Looked at a Dynoport pipe for 800 08-10 800 xp tonight. It says 800 xp mtn on the bottom. Does Dynoport make two different pipes , one for low altitude and one for high ?

I don't have much experience with aftermarket pipes on stock cylinder but i do have a lot of field time on aftermarket pipes and ported cylinder.

Here is what i have found.

DP pipe on ported cylinders slow ET in 660ft, good to very good mph top end in 1500-1700ft. Very good over rev power up to 8250-8300 rpm. Only down side to the DP pipe? It will fall apart about 700km to 1000km. The brace that holds the internal stinger will tear out of the side of the pipe. I have two DP pipe and both fell apart at 700km.

CPI and SPI pipe on ported cylinders good ETs in 660ft but lay down on top end in 1500-1700ft. Do not rev over 7900-8000 rpm. No over rev power at all. No cracks or breaks.

Stock pipe on ported cylinder good ets in 660ft. avg top end in 1500-1700ft. Do not rev over 8100rpm. No over rev power at all. The stock pipe will last for even.

CPI and SPI pipe? Good corner to corner fun power. great mountain pipe. DP pipe soft power on the bottom, poor recovery off on the throttle. Almost like the pipe wants lighter pin weight??? Great over rev power for the cold days when you are off, on your clutching at -18 and down. The DP pipe will still pull mph at 8200 rpm odd 8300 rpm. No way will the stock pipe, CPI or SPI do that.

Something you could try on your stock pipe is remove, 1/4-3/8 in off the header pipe, from between the bell and spring tabs. It will move the power band up on the stock pipe. It will like to scream out to 8200-8300 rpm but will have poor bottom end for off/on throttle trail riding. And a P-ss poor mountain pipe

I have a Modified Aaen single pipe i will GIVE TO YOU, if you want to pay the shipping. It is a large volume pipe with a 1/2" shorter header pipe. It scream like fricken crazy on the top but don't let off the throttle because it will not come back onto the pipe. If you want to strickly drag it may work? It did not work out for what i was looking for and it maybe best on the ported motor vs stock motor? It is one hell of a big pipe.

Honestly!!! It you want to make that Summit run. You have got to pull the cylinder off and get her ported. A good ported cylinder and head mod will be, the biggest in field improvment you will see. Don't get carried away with big boring, just a good old port job will run with or beat any BB in a 1/4 mile drag race.

If i have to do it all over again!!! Her is the man.

Ski-b has tried it all. I Got a lot of good advice from him on pipes, porting, clutching and more. And he was exactly right. I tried an SPI and a Dynoport pipe on a ported motor, and eventually put the stock pipe back on. Aftermarket pipes basically just move your powerband to a different range. Like Ski-B said, if you want good gains, get your cylinders ported with head work.

Lol, Brent your not gonna be happy till I port hey , I really didn't wanna go away from stock porting , the guys already accusing me of cheating after thumpin them would be right then ..........lol. The Summit's a monster in 660 but tops out at 97 but gets there quick with that 1.75 ripper on it. I've gone up and down with Rpm and up and down in weight. . Same result , very consistant is all I have to say. Not to mention in and out of the throttle in the mountains the sled is stupid responsive.. That being said I havent tried goin up a tooth on the top gear since I seem to be using all of the front clutch on a good pull.
But on the same day I was radaring a 2012 Renagade with a 1.75 ripper, Bondi box, clutched and geared was running 96 mph. But a person we both know on his 2011 summit with a 1.75 ripper and Bondi is running a good 103 mph and he is not a little guy. !

I rode a 163 Summit a couple weeks ago in Fernie with the mountain pipe, V Force reeds , felt really good actually and seemed to keep pulling ( on the somewhat flat and fluffy long run in front of Wranglers Cabin ) compared to mine which seems to hit a wall on the long haul. Kinda wish I woulda had a little contest of speed to see how it actually went though just to compare. But I did have a run up there with a 2012 154 E tec , keeping in mind he had a 2.5 on compared to my 146 x 2.125 , the sleds were very close with mine barely out pulling him on the big end. Again so many variables but I'm more interested on improving low altitude performance with the 146 x 1.75 in 660 with more mph up to a 1000 ft

I love my porting I had done from Dave Trygstad. It gained from top to bottom. Everyone that has ridden my sled made the comment that it has power instantly and everywhere. I've tried many mods, and porting is the only thing that made a nice improvement.

i could not agree with brent more on this for 700$ for a dynoport pipe it its just not worth it .here is a idea what some porting would cost you .my bondi porting was about 1200$ shipped there and back.my bmp porting cylinder ported 600$ bought bmp billet head on dootalk for 200$ new one 400$, then D&D porting with stock head cut porting 500 head cut 100 very very nice porting
