Hey guys,
I currently ride my 04' MXZ Adrenaline SDI.. I decided to bite the bullet this year and am looking to purchase a non current 2012. My dealer is giving me an excellent price right now for either of the 2 MXZ TNT or the MXZ X 600 ETEC. There's $1000 difference between the 2.. The only major difference is the suspension, from the SC-5 to the R-Motion. So really my question, is the R-motion really worth the extra $1000?
My riding is mainly north/eastern Ontario, and even with the crappy winter that passed, the trails were in really smooth riding condition. I also figure the SC-5 on the TNT will still be an upgrade from my '04 MXZ. I do ride hard, so I like my cornering to be aggressive, but I dont think the 2 machines differ that much in this regard?

Just on another note... I also figure buying the 2012 600 Etec, im hoping that they have worked out most of the bugs since the launch of the 600 Etec.

Any help or opinions guys is much appreciated. Thanks

IMO both good choices but if you can afford it take the x, you'll get half of the $1000 back at resale and you get some adjust ability on the shocks, also a pretty nice gauge upgrade, and the nicest seat in the biz, good luck.

Razer,
Thanks for the reply. I didn't notice the seat was different until you pointed that out. Theres 4 things I like about the X model. 1. I like the colour choice (Mostly the white/black) 2. Wind deflectors come standard (Would have to pay for them if I buy the TNT) 3. The upgraded Seat 4. Of course the R-motion suspension upgrade.
And like you said, you may be able to get some of that back when selling.

I also plan to keep this sled for a long time, and I don't want to regret not getting something a year down the road.. So im still debating and weighing the pros/cons..

Whats the upgraded gauge you mentioned??

the adjust-ability of the clicker shocks is a major plus especially if you are an aggressive rider it gives you that flexibility to change things up a bit based on conditions. Plus the shocks are rebuildable if you plan on keeping it for a bit. Well worth the money.

The premium guage cluster, rmotion, seat, better shocks, and the fact its a spring only sled are well worth the money difference for both enjoyable performance and resale in the future. Go with the x no doubt.

Manufacturers keep " rebuilding the wheel! " it is the only way to survive.

But to put the suspension controls on the foot boards. This concept won't last long. Most people will agree......put the controls in my hands, sky's the limit.......

Either sled will be a fair upgrade. The Rmotion is noticably better, but not by ~that much~
I had no issue getting back on my tnt after riding an XRS. Yea, it was super nice- but I didn't feel it was a deal breaker.

I would personally go for the X, but understand that the TNT is also a great sled!

Seems like the consensus is the X! I spent most of the weekend researching as well and the more I dive into it the more I am also leaning towards the X. It seems that the upgraded seat alone is worth the extra $$$ based on many ppl's opinions. Im heading down to the Dealer this Saturday, I will let you know the outcome.
Thanks to everyone for their input.

I was in the same boat and I also had a concern about the weight - did you notice the new chassis (which the X has) is quite a bit heavier? That is concerning....

I owned an 08 xp weighing about 450ish in the 10-11 season
I owned an xrs in the 11-12 season weighing about 500lbs
difference was probably really more then 50 pounds between them
I noticed no difference between them what so ever. This weight thing is getting alittle over the top. Also the xs chassis weighs more because they finally strengthened some areas of the xp and the plastics and r motion weigh more.

I believe the actual weight increase is about 14 lbs. BRP is now stating it's weights with electric start as it's standard on many models.

As far as I can tell from the spec sheets the X weighs 429lbs and the TNT weighs 425lbs dry weight.
Now the 800 ETEC weighs 13Lbs more then the 600 TNT.
But im still coming from a SDI which weighs 464lbs..

Again I would like to thank everyone for their input it has probably helped sway me towards the MXZ X, we just better have a good winter here next year!
