I was trying to remember the first guy that put a ZX chain case in an 03 rev on here. I want to think he was from new york, he posted pictures of the install like you are doing. I think I have the site bookmarked on one of the computers.. I know I followed his lead. Of course you know you have to pickup some summit a arms...unless you are building it to just go straight up steep hills and most of the hill climbers use wide front ends and long shocks with triple springs to soak up the bumps and keep the sled stable while climbing... But the rev with a wide front end doesn't side hill well not go between tight trees...
Keep the posts coming, this will be one of the few interesting threads this spring and summer. Good luck to you...

You know you would have probably been money ahead to have bought the whole chassis from Rene and Mike.. sold all of the Rev stuff as well as the engine pieces, and put the summit back together that they have after they pulled the engine. Picked up an 800r engine see there is an 11 etec that is down to 1500 plus shipping.. a $100 head.. aw I guess no matter what way you go, it is going to cost money. Like Squid, I have done a few of these projects.. and one can't believe the money you tie up in one of them... even buying parts at 60 to 50 % of the dollar and doing all the labor, they cost more then a new sled. Ha ha.. I guess one just chalks it up as a learning experience and the fun of making it happen.

It's not about the money. I had already replaced the nun and rebuilt the crank and had more into this sled than it is worth. Plus it was my first sled so it is something I didn't want to part with. I don't ride trails much at all any more so why not mod it. Plus my bud just ordered a summit with a longer track then my freeride so I had to one up him.
Also as I said yesterday the summit a arms will be comming next week with the new154 skid.
Thanks for the input

Just can't let me highmark ya huh lol. Things really look like thier coming along. Can't wait to see it when I come down this summer. These things are a money pit but a work of love I still got my 1980 john deere I'd sell all my new sleds before it. Yer gonna be riding that more then the FR fer sure. The question is which one are you bringing to gaspe or both.
.
They Say getting stuck is half the fun. Which means all my friend are having just as much fun pulling me out of the rubarb all the time.

I have no idea with the quotes. Sometimes they work sometimes they don't lol. Should head up to that hill this summer to smooth out those berms at the bottom so we can get a run at it. But I'm sure with that beast yer making that hill will go down this winter. The deere is in the house garage. I don't let it hang out with all that BRP riffraf in the shop. I Know I can get 3 146" sled in the trailer no prob and one in the truck. Stealth might have to sled out there ( just kidden stealthhow do you keep fn up the quote function

Kealo, you guys should come in to my camp this winter, add 2 feet more snow on average than what you play with in rolphton. My buddy has a tandem trailer we load 4-6 sleds on when moving alot of guys and sleds. I was also thinking about weir quebec - the powerline there, there are some massive hills there that I'm sure would be very tricky - and the best part is that it is only about 1.5 hours to get to.
we will definitely hook up this winter....just 8 or 9 long months away...I will send you my coordinates if you want to come by you are welcome any time..

Do you guys have pictures of these hills you ride. Would be fun to see them. And I hear you about the first sled type of thing. I still have my 03 Rev with a ZX chain case, PLP tunnel extention that you can fit a 151/154 inch track under. Also an couple of hand built ZX 151 inch sleds. Thanks again for sharing the build!
