I took my bike out to see if I could get to decent snow for the snowmobiles via the back way. There are just too many dry spots for the snowmobile (so next year I guess) but ended up being a fun bike ride as the snow was firm for the most part. The bike is in the pictures (hope you don't mind - sort of a "spring" snowmobile), but you can get a feel for current snow conditions in SW Colorado - pretty bad with only 45% of snowpack.

Dan, I think you are bit spoiled with your Colorado snow. That snow in the pics looks good to me...

I was so snow starved this year, that when I spilled white flour on the kitchen floor I thought about driving my snowmobile around the kitchen.

Last year was great here, so I guess I can't expect two great years in a row. Hopefully next year will be good.

Yes - lots of Snowshoe Hare tracks but I never saw one of them today even with my whisper quiet "snowmobile".

There is still deep snow in the high country but it gets difficult to get to this time of year except off of a highway that climbs to a high elevation with a trail head you can get to. I hope next year is a good snow year again in year area. The snow has consolidated and today was cold so the bike could get on top of it. Before getting to the snow there was a lot of mud.
