Stock 2002 Mach Z Sport. I don't plan to run it in a circuit ... just want to have some fun with the boyz 4 braggin' rights. I haven't heard of any upcoming races yet but I do like to go when I can so maybe I will see you there ... just not on the track ... LOL!

what are you running in the carbs

280's and I believe there is 45 pilots in it.

stock motor, 500 ft drag... time your run on a track.... if you gain something in time or throttle response by dropping them , drop it a little bit..!!

but if you wanna play safe an run 50 run per day during the entiere summer stay jetted like this and improve your clutching...

last winter i drop my improved 700 (699 triple) from 350 to 330 on 660' for the final, the other runner(improved f7) was sooo fast ... and I blows my engine at the half of the track.... now your shure than i will keep my plug more brown than grey lolll

do some test and tell us your result :) im interested about this subject !! have a great test day !

You need fuel to make power.

Quite true!

You need fuel to make power.

That's something else I've always agreed on ... one thing that still puzzles me is why the later year Mach Zs like my 02 came with 290 mains and the 99 and 00 came with 310 across the rest of the carb calibration being the same. Before I bought my 02 I wouldn't have thought I could jet my 99 down two sizes and run all winter like that. Any idea why Doo would have dropped two sizes ... it's not like the 99+'s were slow?

Great info Thanks! I didn't reallize a plug can tell you all that ... I think I'll leave it as is for now as bragging rights aren't worth a blown motor.

I'm afraid I won't have much time to do any testing ... too many other things going on this summer. I thought the burn on that plug looked pretty good but I'm suprised how defined the color change is. I'd rather play it safe and stay on the rich side but was curious what those who normally run 500' like their plugs to look like.
