So I'm trying to decide if I should buy some aftermarket running boards for my Freeride or not. What I'm most concerned about is the strenth. I want good snow evacuation which is obviously better with the aftermarket board rather than the stock Freeride's boards.. But are the Aftermarket Boards able to stand big jumps and drops? I'm very interested in a set of airframes, but my buddy bought some better boards and it looks to me like I could just cut out what is needed and leave some of the stock boards there, for added strenth.. What do you guys think is my best bet??

I put on a set of Feethookers and am really liking them. They have very aggressive traction which I love and evacuate snow very well. They also have an upturned edge along the outside with traction, so that adds a lot of strength, and they're already tons stronger than stock boards. I'm sure they will withstand big jumps and hard landings. And I know the stock boards do not. They're very well priced as well. I have pics of mine on a snowiest review.

Does anyone know if it will be a problem to mount my RPM composites skid plate with the new running boards... The skid plate mounts just behind the foot holds.

I have installed Better Boards on a couple of the XPs I service for a tour outfit and was impressed with their product, stiffer for sure. The Feet Hookers look very similar and probably even stiffer, not sure on the price difference.

I have better boards on my XP and I have bent them. Not very happy. I'll probably go with skinz for next season.

I have WRP boards with the RPM skidplate on my summit. There is no interference between the two, one hole might be used by both I can't remember. The only issue, which has nothing to do with the aftermarket boards, is that the skidplate covers up about half of the open space way in the front of the footwells, farther foreward than the aftermarket boards. I am wondering about cutting the plate a little bit to open that space back up, but I would speak to Raffi there at RPM about that first.

Has anyone tried cutting larger holes in the stock runingboards? I was going to try it and if it didn't work well then put the aftermarket ones on.

WRP on my current sled, but I'd probably go with skinz airframes for the next swap. WRP have been great so far and are a huge improvement over stock, but starting to bend in the middle after some hard landings. Board edge not bending, just some dishing between the tunnel and board edge.
