Steve, had these on since '08. Never had a problem with snow

I had a set on my Colorado (OE) and popped one of the rear ones once when I backed into deep snow, but it had those plastic push pins so I was able to push it back on. They looked ok on that truck, I'd love to put them on my silvy, but I don't think they would look good.

Just had to jump out and look. No paint damage, theres a clear vinyl wrap behind all wheels.

x3, mine has the vinyl too....

TK, a set of chrome tubular box rails and matching running boards would top it off nicely.

There's also the clear vinyl strips in place as well for added protection in chaff type areas.

I do agree and think it would look nice but the running boards seem to just get in the way on the half tons. The truck sits low enough that I don't need them, and they just seem like an extra half-step on other trucks I've been in that had them. I'd like the box rails also but wonder if they'd look out of place without the running boards..... Oy now muh hed hurtz from thinkin about it

My friend has a new EcoBoost FX4, pretty nice ride. I'm a pretty technology savvy guy but there is all kinds of shtuff on there that I had no idea the function of.

Was talking to a couple of guys who just bought new f-150's. One has Eco-boost and the other the 6.2L. They're not the lightest of feet but the 6.2 was getting 10-11mpg and the Eco was 13mpg :bighair: Tell me this aint the norm lmao

With no highway driving HB is averaging 16.9 mpg round town and it's only got 700 miles on it.. For a 3.5 it really boogies when you put your foot into ! If in the market I'd be all over it.

Oh ya it's got nearly 400HP B) I'm still curious how hard they're pushing 3.5L of displacement with twin turbos. Is it a 1-200k motor on the consumer market? This guy already had a hesitation/stumble issue with his when stepping on it to pass someone. Going into the dealer this week to see what the issue is. Might just be crappy gas or something.

I figure by the time I'm ready to upgrade the Eco-Boost should be well proven with lots of them with pretty high miles. I'd really like to have one I know that! :)

I hear you on the cabin room/etc John, thats a MASSIVE reason I went to Ford...

If you wound up with a 1/2 ton what you'd have to make smaller sideboards up for your wood trips to Harry's. ;)

True, but the extended cab can tow 9k and the crew 11k, so instead of sideboards I'd get a trailer! :) Still trying to find a cheap trailer that I could use to supplement what I can carry with the truck, but it seems used trailers command a high price.

Beef up the springs on your existing sled trailer, you don't use that too much. ;) :)

Gonna take the right $$$ for me to buy a ford. No way I'm paying their prices at dealers around here that's for sure. Would have cost me $5-6k more for an equivalent ford around here.
