Nice pics ... looks alot like Whittier up on the glaciers. Are you guys accessing that country right behind Juneau or over by the Mendenhal?

The Goats scratch through the windblown peaks and eat the vegetation growing on and between the rocks. Meager victuals for sure.

Mountain Goats are tough. See them all the time around Pemberton

We accessed it from Out the road near Auke Bay from the Spaulding Meadows riding area. Lots of thick trees, creek and drainage terrain and of course some super steep long pulls. Not something that I think we will be able to make very often. I really wanna ride up north some day, but for now I am happy with this. I need to study the Icefields a bit more as I know there are some several hundred foot deep crevasses all over. Its fairly new to me. However, from where I made it, I know it could be travelled hundreds of miles farther.

As far as the Goats, they worry as much about getting eaten, as they do eating and finding moss and liken. We seen alot of fresh wolf tracks in the same area.

I like the Valdez Pics, someday, I will make it there.

Here are a couple more.

Nice pics of the area. Can you fill us in on what kind of a trip in this is? You mentioned a couple of long pulls...doo you go up for the day? Take a skimmer with extra fuel and supplies for a couple days? Looks like you could literally go for hundreds of miles! How do you discipline yourself to stop!
Envious of your back yard. Enjoy it boys! :righton
How do you know where the line is if you never cross it?

here in Valdez i can either take a sled ride 10 min from my front door or trailer up for about a 30 min ride. either way everything is the same type of riding. mountains, valley's, trees and tons of fun. just got into riding this year and love it more than softball and golf.

The trailhead is about a 5 minute drive from my house, and with the trail broke, it was about a 45 minute run to the area. I explored alot before I found a path all the way in. And determined there was only one way. STEEP and VERTICAL or we dont make it. I have been riding my whole life, and mountains since about 98? and at least 70 rides this season alone, and this was some of the best I had been on. Massive amounts of snow to speak of. I cant fathom how deep in places, but this drift is about a 50 footer.

who found what trail? I think there is credit do elsewhere! lol Ive got pics to put up to just have to figure out how to get them out of my phone. These pics are from the 3rd trip in. The hardest part was picking a way through the timber and getting up on a the ridge. after that its not to bad. the goats where at the tree lines mostly but can see where they go up to the rocks. I think they hide from the wolfs up there.

Hope we can get back up this weekend! We have a high snow year this year. Hope we can do it on a normal year too. Sharky did pull the last hill way in the back to have a look farther in than i made it the first day. He gets that credit! I ran out of day light! LOL sharky. Sunday Sharky? hit it if the weather is good?

here is the spot tracker from my buddy that was there on the first run in. at #14 is where you pull a shute then on to the big ice! the terrain is very intimidating up there wide open and big steep mountains, 4500' on the freeride gauges. pretty high for southeast alaska.

Unreal!! You guys have it MADE!! I think someone asked before, but any fuel concerns? Like, running out? Tough to judge distances on your gps pic, but I'd think if you take the wrong valley you're in it deep.
