I heard its already been shipped back - it wasn't repairable. I would have liked to buy the scrap though - I bet the skid was still good.ID, I also heard something about a conex incident but haven't been in to see. I'll try to stop in tomorrow and post what I learn. I hope it's not so as it would be a shame. Wonderful sled and I'm hoping to get a little more stick time on it.

I got a chance to stop in but only managed to get the quick scoop as they were all very busy back in the mech shop. This is what I got out of it.
Fasteners on the handlebar riser were not correctly tightened which caused the handlebars to slip forward which bent or stressed the throttle cable causing uncontrolled acceleration and the sled going into a fence. Apparently the problem was noticed before but not reported to the mechanics who had no chance to fix the problem. It sounds to me like an assembly mishap rather than an inherent problem with this model. I hope I'm not stepping on anybody's toes as I wish to continue to have good relations with my local dealer and BRP for the future but it is important that things like this are studied for the best results. I know I will be checking the riser bolts on my sleds occasionally from now on.

I heard today that the rider drove up on a cat and was wearing full cat clothing. Hopped on the sled and immediately wrecked it. Conspiracy?

I believe the demo sleds are all hand built proto-types which were only 154s. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
From what everyone who's demoed one and posts the 154s handle like short-tracks so that helped me to decide to snow-check a 163. I've heard numerous guys say they wish they had a longer track but not one a shorter one.
