Hey all. I have a 2008 Everest 154. Not an X pkg so the front shocks are not rebuildable. A friend had a set of HPG shocks in nice shape (2001 summit 6-7-800 # 505070552 rebuildable)for a great price. Will these work on the 08? My sled is in the shop so I can't visually line them up. Just hoping that someone will have some experience or knowledge on this. Thanks. This site is great!!!

No, I believe those are 18" long if I'm not mistaken? You need 17" long shocks. If there 17, they will work

Bandit. I measured the shocks and got 16" center to center on the mount bolts and 16.5" overall. Will they work? Sounds like they will be too short. I actually got the shocks to see if I could cob them onto an older Honda dirt bike. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks

Install the shocks on your sled and ride it. you may find that there is more pressure on the center shock and of course less on the skiis. I actually did this on my "08 X 154 by redrilling the lower shock mount on the a-arm, then adjusted the center shock for just enough ski pressure for control on trails. You will find that you will need to increase pressure on ski spring because as the shock is shorter it will mount with a flatter angle than the stock shock and will compress less in distance on the shock rod under normal movement and have less spring force evident.
anyway you may very well like it, the sled will be easier to rollover too.
