Sorry about the wait, spring is here. I've spent all my time out on the trail. The ramps fixed my problem. There was a grove worn in the ramps off idle. The primary clutch was not clamping the belt tight enough off idle. The week after I got that straightened out the water pump shaft seal went out. Complete tear down, but i have new main beings now. Have a great summer!!!

Ok thanks!
Question: How can you tell if waterpump seal is shot?

I Have a V800. On the front of the motor (#1 cylinder) directly behind the water pump is a weep hole into the water pump shaft cavity. The shaft is powered off the oil pump gear. You may need a mirror to see it. If coolant is leaking out the water pump shaft seal is bad. If oil is leaking then the Oil seal on the water pump shaft is bad. Page 223 of Shop manual. Hope this helps.

Yes thanks, i got a coolant leak somewhere......only when the engine is running and I can't find it, sounds as if the pump seal could be the culprit!
