Looking at possibly going up to Speculator this weekend how is it looking? Have a camo in Caroga Lake, so we would be coming from there sat a.m. Where can we drop at?
Depending on how the warm up goes tomorrow, you can ride from Caroga. I have a camp on North Branch and rode from Caroga this past weekend north past nine corners lake, up through Powley road and over to spy lake before i turned around (wanted to be back for lunch). The trails had a few water holes but could be navigated around. The trails all over Caroga are good, just need a little more snow to fill a few water holes. The further north you go, the more snow on the ground.

How were the moguls leaving Caroga Lake, past Morey Rd on C8? Also did you cross Canada Lake, and how was it?

Exactly where is Perkins clearing, been through Speculator plenty of times by car, but never up that way on the machines. read great things about ut though. Thanks for the info, and hopefully the trails didnt get wasted with today's warm-up.ONE HINT, HIT PERKINS CLEARING!

If you are driving north on 30 and go through town you go about a mile and there is a parking area on your right. The trail on your right is c4 heading to town. The trail on the left is the enterance to perkins clearing. From there you can head to Indian lake or Piseco. Be sure to take the trail that says mud lake you will thank me when you get back

Morey road is surprisingly good, minus a few water holes. No moguls on any of the trails with the exception of the trail coming off and down the backside of Nine Corners. Everything was groomed prior to last weeks warmup and no one was really out riding last week, surprisingly. We didn't cross Canada on Saturday but did on Sunday, it was clean glare ice, plenty of shanty's on the ice and alot of people ice fishing.
NOTE: Nine Corners Lake - the far side trail access has a large rock in the middle of the trail on the shoreline. It is passable but can always be bypassed taking the bypass trail around the lake. The bypass trail also cuts off a large waterhole off the lake as well.
