I'm working on a friends 2005 Skidoo 800 Renegade. Carbs & clutches needed cleaning. I ran the sled last night, noticed a slight knocking sound coming from the engine. With engine off rotating the clutch in a normal direction I heard no crank noises, however when rotating the clutch backwards I heard a metallic sound eminating from the engine. Hard to tell if coming from crank shaft or piston area. Sounded more crank like. Ay thoughts?

a compression test may give you some valuable insight before you tear it apart.

Remove the clutch & try it?
