Still plenty of snow in April and with the way this winter is going May and June might be good. On good years you can ride in Whittier the whole month of May. Driving from Maine?

April is still winter in Alaska. Riding will be very good.

Flying out if I can get there. Will have to rent sleds or get hooked up with a guide service. Was planning on July to fish but sledding may be just as good of a trip. Any suggestions?

Wasilla Toy rental is where you can rent a sled, and i am sure if you keep us posted on here as to when you plan to come up you will have plenty of "guides" willing to show you around.

Plan a May trip for a week or so. With the winter we are having so far you can do both, sled and fish.

Yeah April should be good this year for snow, March is usually the best time for spring riding though.
For sled rentals I would highly recommend Gate Creek Cabins in Petersville (http://www.gatecreekcabins.com)
