I did the reading last week on this.
In BC if you want NO Ethanol the only sure way is to buy 94 Chevron.
Yes Shell's premium at 91 is also supposed to be ethanol free but this is not mandated from Shell like it is from Chevron on their 94 Octane.
What I concluded was why enter the ethanol race if you can just avoid it.
Yes the Chev. 94 is expensive but I always burn a lot more in the truck of 87 just getting there than I do on the mountain so I burn the 94 in my sled.

Of the 4 west refinery's, Esso, Shell, Petro- and Co-Op the first three are supposed to have Ethanol Free 91. The only issue with Shell is the 45 other additives they add to the fuel.
Each province will also have a different mandate on what must be run in the fuel. Sask apparently requires Ethanol content (up to %10) in all fuel? Is that true? Not sure I don't live or ride there. Huskey I know has up to %10 all their fuel.
The station should be putting it on the pump if it has %10 Ethanol.
Yes you can run the 91, try and avoid anything with Ethanol if possible. Its not the end of the world if you run it though, just run what you buy that day. Don't keep it in jerry cans or store in the sled for long periods of time.

94 Chevron is usually the same price as 91 other brand. Like LMNH said the Shell is supposed to have no ethanol.

What do the other additives have to do with anything in the Shell gas. I run it in all my vehicles with 0 problems.
