600 SDI Issues

I have a 04 Renegade 600 SDI. About 4 weeks ago I purchased a new battery for it. Put battery in and it ran great. Never had any issues with this sled. I drove it down a trail for about 15 minutes. Everything was fine. Yesterday I started it up and idled it for about 10 Minutes...no problems and then moved it to inside a plastic shelter not heated. It got real cold out yesterday.
This morning I started it up, elec. start and wanted to idle it for 5-10 minutes, within 3 or 4 minutes I gave it some gas and it started to backfire and stall. I re-started it up and could not keep it running tried again but idle was real low and not steady. Now it won't run turns over fine, battery is new and keeps turning over but does not fire up. Would anybody be able to give me a suggestion as to what to do.
Thanks everyone,
Paul

My son rode it yesterday around our property with no issues. I have also put gas line antifreeze, it prevents gas from moisture. I checked all the relays and fuses...everything seems OK. I even took the 3 relays in there and warmed them up. I checked the battery, which is new anyways. It keeps turning over but does not fire at all. I am lost as to what it could be, it's as though it has no gas, yet there is fuel. I even took an eye dropper and put a little bit of gas in both cylinders, plugs back and tried to fire it up....nothing, how can I check that there is a spark at the tip of the plug. Is it just by pulling spark plug out and leaving rest somewhere and trying to start it??
Thanks very much,
Paul

I pulled the plugs, checked compression (130 each side) hooked up the wires and rested on the top of the head, tilted so the bottoms were not touching.
Hit the electric and spark looked very week and not going to the bottom but to the sides. I cleaned the plugs a bit, checked spark again, looked not bad but not bright blue . Then re installed them.
Crank, crank crank still nothing. Thought maybe something else was going.
Did some checks, cleaned plugs again (were wet) thought maybe bad gas. Tried again, nothing.
Pulled plugs, cranked engine to clear any fuel. Put in new plugs and it started right up. But then a large bang when the accumulated fuel in the exhaust lit. Next time I will wait for the gas to evaporate before trying.
I still can’t figure out why cleaning the plugs didn’t work. Maybe there is a special procedure to clean them. I just scrapped the electrode and the contact point.
Good luck with yours.

check your grounds to.i had the ground connection on the battery come loose one time. anytime the skis got air time the sled cut out/bogged until it made contact again. my dad went and rode it, he said it was fine. but the skis never came off the ground when he rode it so the ground never lost connection.
Thank you, I will try all of the above tomorrow morning.....

Well you guys were right, changed out the spark plugs with new ones and away she went. Fired up first shot. I am glad I did not end up bringing to the dealer.
Thank you for all your help.
There is a guy who seems to be having the same problem, think the heading is DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO......Hope he has been reading this thread because my spark plugs were brand new. Sled had just run about 15-20 minutes total on them. They fouled and would not allow the motor to fire. Just before it did not start I heard popping too like a muffeled back fire at low RPM...Then I kept trying to start it and eventually it did not fire at all. Why does this happen, are we not suppose to let it idle even for 5 minutes prior to ride?? I could understand if it was warm outside but here today it is about -23c It should never overheat. Anyways Thanks again guys.
