Hi I am wondering how interchangable the doo clutches are . I am compareing one form a 05 800 andone from a late 90s formula. I can see that the 800 clutch has less mass on the outer sheave but if the ramps and other parts are changed to the sleds origanal it should work or am I missing something ? thanks for your input .

You need to stick with a 03-07 forged TRA 3 built for 800 Rev

Crankshaft tapers differ quite a bit, and some TRA's have a straight angle to them and some have variable angles. If you switched from straight to variable or vise versa, you would have to change secondary to match.

is this the taper on the crankshaft or the clutch faces ?

Sorry. The taper I was referring to is on the crankshaft. The variable angle is on the clutch face.
