does anybody know where to get a 12V supply on an etec that is constant when running but shuts off when you kill the motor? this ,no acc power below 1500 RPM on the Etecs, is a PIA. I have electric start and had the acc and heated shield plugs installed but as you know no power at idle. if i need to go to the bat i will but would prefer another source. Thanks.
splice off the headlight 3-prong wire. those are ON all the time... but you might dim them if you take too much power ... i would use a relay off those instead of direct tap.
you could probably even get a nice T-connector so you dont have to cut any wires.

What do you see as the benefit of a 12volt source that shuts down when you turn off the sled? Do you leave the GPS on the sled all night? I always bring mine in to either review the day's data or use to to plan the following day, and the GPS rides in the cab of the truck when the riding is over.

Just pull the fuse in the summer
we were directly connected to battery and it drained my battery over the summer... any way to get more details on the wiring? what exactly are you splicing into?

I orginally had mine hooked up to the head lights as I don't have electric start. But at the end of the first ride using the GPS powered of the head lights the stator wend out on the sled 10' from the trailer. I don't know if the two were related but I don't have it wired to the headlights anymore.
Has anyone on here done the headlight splice, or is it thought of as a better option to just hardwire direct to the battery?

Where is the accesory plug, I have a 12 renegade 800 Etec. Thanks
I just pulled it off the accessory plug and set my gps not to shut off with loss of power. Problem solved and no ill side effects to the motor and or wiring. I have no batt also.
