I've heard you can gain some decent hp from y pipes. Looking to put one on my rev but i'm not sure weather to do a y pipe or something else... any opinions?

The performance gain from changing out the stock Y pipe would be so minimal if any, i wouldn't waste your $. The main reason to change the Y pipe is because the stock ones crack so often. Clutching and or gearing is where to spend your cash if you already haven't.

A billet head will make some more power and make your machine run cooler

I was looking into gearing also, only thing i havent touched. I really am looking for bottom end power. Im running a 1.25 ripsaw and stock 500ss gearing. Any ideas on what i should change it to?
