they changed the suspension from SC3 to SC4. the 06 has a fixed windshield. no beaver tail but im sure you know that already. but i cant think of anything else off the top of my head. the 500ss tends to run lean just an FYI

Different bars, they didn't put the 500ss in the 03(600ho or 800), rings shouldn't be flaky, track pitch, skis? lowered front end, suspension, obviously no beaver-tail, windshield. Thats what i can think of at the moment...

the lack of issues with the rings (already mentioned), and the longer coolers (on the '04+) would be 2 of the most significant differences IMHO :ride:

03 consumer sleds had a shorter chaincase. The 03 440x had the same size chaincase as what's in the 04-07. Other than that everything else has been mentioned.

03 has the beaver tail stock and the corresponding goofy 3/4 length rear cooler. And the shorter chaincase which makes putting a larger track on it more difficult. Most of the other parts generally remained the same, minus going to the PowerTech engine control system.

The 500ss engine does not have a seal retainer, there is no room for one. 600HO/SDI and 800HO's did have them.

I don't know about a weaker one, I think they added bracing in the later years.
