Hey guys I need some help here, I have at work a 2008 300 RF Tundra with a speedometer and a tach on the dash and wanted one one for my 2008 RF 300 Tundra. So I thought easy, just take the part numbers off the work sled and order the tach and the speedo. Not so fast.....my dealer said that BRP did not offer that as a option...( kinda knew that) cause I bought mine brand new....anyway, I don't know the history of the work sled but know that that the 2008 freestyle park had the same dash as the 2008 tundra SO the question is If bought a tach and a speedo for a 2008 freestyle park ( or backcountry) it should fit my dash shouldn't it? And what about the harness? What would be the part number there?. From looking at my work sled the wiring harness looks pretty neat with the only disconnect at the right hand side of the hood. Bottom line is I want a speedo and tach for my 2008 tundra and wanted to know if you guys have some part numbers and the how about of putting them in.
I have part numbers for the speedo and the tach from the work sled and the speedo/tach and from BRP's website for a 2008 Freestyle Pa :unsure:rk
I have pics from the work sled but was having trouble loading them.
Thanks
Speedo and Tach

I have an 09 300F Tundra with a speedometer and tach. The person I bought it from put them in because his kids "had " to have instruments to watch.
They are same as in any other Rev. I think you also have to buy a different wiring harness to replace the stock Freestyle harness for models that did not come equipped with instruments.
The part numbers should be the same as your Park.
I "borrowed" the speedometer from the Tundra and put it in my Backcountry for troubleshooting purposes. They install in the panel with a simple quarter twist.
I broke the tach and picked one up from another Rev on eBay for about $40.
Speedometer new is $331. On a new speedometer you set the calibration for number of teeth when you first install it. According to the service manual, you can't change it later.
If you buy a used speedometer the only thing you need to watch out for is that it is calibrated for the 9 tooth sprocket, not 10 as used in most Revs. The Freestyle Backcountry also has 9, and some 550F Revs such as the GTX also used 9T. I'm pretty sure the short track Freestyle 550Fs have 10 because the short track MXZ and GSX 550Fs I checked have 10. You can find lots of used ones off MXZ 600HO or other overpowered speedsters, but not many people wreck sleds with 550F motors.

Maybe I'm muddying the ground needlessly, but I didn't have much luck putting the gauges from an '06 GSX in my '07 Freestyle 300. The speedo works (although it's set up for a 10-tooth sprocket), and the tach lights up, but doesn't register. I took the tach out and installed it in a friends 550 Backcountry, and it worked fine. The gauges have the black face...maybe that's where I went wrong?

I don't know, maybe you also have to install the speed sensor on the left side of the front axle. It provides pulses to the speedometer. However even without that signal the tach should work. The speedometer actually process the tach signal and controls the tach. Maybe there is some other wiring harness needed. I guess you'd have to call a dealer and find out what parts you need. The original tach I had in the Tundra was black face, the replacement used one is black and silver.
