Hi :HowYouDooin: , my name is Charles "KrazyKanuck62" and I'm a sledaholic. I live just outside of Ottawa. I live and breath sledding and cant wait for winter.

I know it may seem waaaaaay to early to talk about a ride but the days are actually getting shorter now

I know last year there was talk of getting a group together for a Dootalk ride but I dont know if it ever happened.I figured if we started talking about it early it would be much easier for people to plan regarding vacations, accomadations etc and see how much interest there would be.I was thinking anywhere from 1 to 3 day trip, maybe even part of the RAP. I'm in to more than 1 ride so if theres anybody who would be into doing the RAP like 2 nights and 3 days of riding that would be sweet
If theres serious interest and when the time comes I'll take the lead, make arrangements etc....so if your interested Giddy-up and :ridedoo:

I have a 2 place trailer and truck so I can pick someone up.

Good idea to get the ball rolling a little earlier! We were trying last year but the weather didn't cooperate (even though I went up and rode the area anyways that weekend! ). We were trying for a day trip in the Mazinaw area as it was central to a lot of folks in this end of Ontario and the trail conditions are consistently good, but I'm sure if plans could be made to meet up in a few different locations during the season there would be a fair amount of interest in that as well. My dad and I are from the Kingston area and we rode around the Athens/Brockville areas a few times the last two seasons and we also often ride the Sharbot Lake/Perth/Calabogie areas, so somewhere in the middle of District 1 for us eastern Ontario folks would be Dooable as well and something to think about. We were able to meet up near the end of the season with fellow Dootalker "6KJR" and a few of his buddies and went for a mini-Dootalk-and-friends ride up to Bancroft (he was another one of the group that was trying to arrange the DT trip). That trek was fun and had some interesting moments to say the least, especially the "swamp crossing" incident...

Let's see who else might be interested in meeting up. Even if we can't get everyone together for one big ride, it'll be good if fellow DTers can meet up here and there for a few rides and put some faces to the names and the sled pics. :) It's also a good way for folks to be introduced to new riding areas. :righton

A couple shots from our mini-DT trip outing (last one borrowed from 6KJR so I could be in one of them ;) ):

I just got this a little while ago. I would definitely be interested in a few DT rides. I wanted to join up and meet some of the people last year but as Brutus said, the weather went for !?%$ and it wasn't worth the trip from my area. Pretty well an overnighter for me anyway so a 2 or 3 day ride is not out of the questioin either. I am usualy pretty flexible with my schedule too. Only a few dates that I absolutely could not get off. Great idea to start planning early.

Never too early to start the ball rolling!!

I am always willing/wanting to ride with others, almost met up with Brutus and his dad one day, but like everyone says, weather is our nemesis!!

Sounds good to me. Where do you like to start from? We left from Rolphton a couple times this season and had great rides.

We could look at booking a resort / hotel and make it available to families too! Doo a full day ride, then tell lies in the evening!

That's a great idea, book a place then doo a couple of day trips. I'm picking up an HD GoPro to document any trips we take.

Cheers
