Total Adjustable Performance Products has designed a complete billet snowmobile primary drive clutch with high tech features that Tapp out your competition when it comes to performance and adjustability for your sled.
The weights and ramps are easy to adjust from the outside without any need to remove from motor or disassembling clutch and replacing weights or profiles.
Ramps have clicker style bolts with 6 positions and can be set at up to 12 different positions because of the 4 arm clutch design. Two ramps can be set at #2 and two opposite ramps set at #3 for very fine adjustment.
Weights can be adjusted the same way with opposite amounts of weight for fine adjustments and easy changes in a few moments. Rollers are available in 3 sizes allowing for additional tuning.
Compact design for tight spaces with multi angle sheaves offering better belt life and stronger, smoother acceleration. Vented design allows for cool running temperatures. Long life bushings withstand high heat
Designed for use with factory clutch bolt and puller.
The centralized mass /low inertia design provides unmatched throttle response.
Designed for high torque turbo sleds running big boost!

Thank you for purchasing a TAPP Industries primary clutch. You have chosen one of the finest and well built clutches on the market with the most adjustment of any clutch on the market today. This clutch is no different than any clutch from a maintenance aspect, and should be blown out frequently and at specified intervals depending on type of use, disassembled and cleaned with soapy water.
Adjusting your clutch:
There are 3 main adjustable components in a TAPP Clutch, these are:
• Ramp profile
• Ramp angle
• Roller size
• Weight adjustment
1- Ramp profile:
Your TAPP clutch comes with a set of pre-chosen ramps that have been tested in many scenarios and have been deemed to be the most generic in most situations. Changing the angle or profile of the ramp will have many effects on the shift profile. This should only be done by an experienced tuner, you will likely not need to change this. Blank ramps are available for those that want to experiment with different custom profiles.
2- Ramp Angle:
The ramp angle in your TAPP Clutch is adjustable from the outside via the use of “clicker style” bolts. As with other “clicker” style clutches the higher the number the higher the rpm, this mainly effects the full shift speed but also effects the engagement and low speed slightly.
*ALWAYS ADJUST THE RAMP ANGLE IN PAIRS ACROSS FROM EACH OTHER, IF YOU DO NOT THE CLUTCH WILL BE OUT OF BALANCE AND WARRANTY WILL BE VOID*
3- Roller Size:
Your clutch was shipped with a predetermined roller size for your application. There are 3 sizes of rollers available: standard, 1mm oversize, and 2mm oversize. Bigger rollers make the low end “revvier” but shift out quicker and lower the full shift rpm, Smaller rollers make the engine less “revvier” shift out slower and raise the full shift rpm. This has to do with the angle of the arms combined with the weight difference of the rollers.
*AS WITH THE RAMP ANGLE ROLLER SIZE MUST BE DONE IN PAIRS ACROSS FROM EACH OTHER, FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN AN IMBALANCE OF THE CLUTCH AND POSSIBLY FAILURE. WARRANTY WILL BE VOID*
4- Weight Adjustment:
The weight in the arms can be adjusted in two ways: set screws in the arms, and washers on the roller thru bolt. Your clutch was shipped with a basic tuning kit. As with all other clutches add weight to lower rpm, remove weight to raise rpm. Set screws in the arms affect the low speed shift points more than the high speed, and weight on the roller bolt acts like tip weight in a conventional clutch affecting the high speed more than any other part of the curve. Adjust this as needed for your application.
*AS WITH ALL OTHER ADJUSTMENTS DO THIS EVENLY AND ONLY IN PAIRS ACROSS FROM EACH OTHER, FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN AN IMBALANCE OF THE CLUTCH AND POSSIBLE FAILURE. WARRANTY WILL BE VOID*
Weight of tuning parts:
Rollers Standard = 9.9 grams, +1mm = 12.5 grams, +2mm = 15.3 grams
Roller bolts Short 37.5mm = 7.6 grams, Long 43.5mm = 8.8 grams
Washers Regular = 1.2 grams
Allen screws Regular ½” = 2.6 grams

Curve clutch faces really make it grab the belt and is always cool running.
Secondary we use EPI Purple Arctic Cat twist spring with 48 or 50 degree straight cut helix.
Back shift is very good and enough side pressure with 90 degree twist in it.

It actually looks to good to put on a sled, I had mine on my shop counter and
everyone that looked and admired it said it was a fine piece of art with miscalculate
machining and much thought put into it. Turbo is on it's way!!!
