Everyone wanted LIGHT! So Doo made light. Then, it wasn't strong enough. So they are adding strength in area's, which, add weight. The people wanted a cutting edge EFI, So, the Etec came. Now it's to heavy??? Will people make up their darn minds!!!!

We want lightweight, indestructible, fuel injected sleds that will just last forever with out ever maintaining them. Also some sort of tree forcefield. Is that too much to ask? Jeez!!!

I sorta expected ski-doo to drop weight and not gain especially for 2013. When C3 can make a Rev Xp 100 lbs lighter, I know BRP is just funneling money into their other divisions and not back into Ski-Doo engineering.

Check out the featured video. At minute 3:20, a dude is carrying a chassis with gas tank, engine mounts, running boards all with one hand.

have you ever seen what happens to those carbon chassis sleds after a few hundred miles??? It is a purpose built sled and has one job, climb.

Ask the guys who bought them how much they are liking carbon.

The seat is not as fat on the sides and I didn`t know that the DS skis is heavier then the 6.9.

But I think that Ski-doo went the wrong way!

Back in 2008 there were no Freeride/Assault/Hcr class, so even if you knew you were going to jump and ride it harder than usual you bought it anyway, but now you just buy a Freeride och Xrs Hc...

Polaris did the opposit, heavy D8 , now the lightest mountain sled out there (ProRmk), and I have not heard of any issues with the Assault other then the weak running boards.

In addition to the running boards, there have been some engine mount straps pulled through the tunnel and broken rear skid mounts. Poo did cover these under warranty.

I haven't been able to find any reports of angry C3 owners. I would be interested to see pics or hear reports from current owners. Aluminum used to be an exotic building material at one time. I see Polaris copied C3 by losing the chain/chaincase.

I see Polaris is claiming a dry weight of 417 lbs on their 2013 800 RMK 153". I see they are using some carbon fiber on the pyramid structure, lost the chain-case in favor of a belt-drive and I suppose they are still using epoxy instead of rivets in certain locations.
SkiDoo's 2013 800 Etec Summit 154" lists dry weight of 464 lbs. Even if you lost the E-start for 25 lbs, Polaris has Ski Doo beat by a whopping 23 lbs.

C3 was not the first to use a belt drive, Crazy Mountain Extreme was. I would also like to know what happens to carbon fiber after a few years.

I know exactly what i want, All of it!!! Lighter, stronger with more power, Why not? I'm willing to pay the $ but if I have to go backwards in one area to go forward in another, i'm not really gaining that much.

From my first mountain sled a 1994-583, every sled I've bought since has gotten lighter with more power and now you r going to tell me that i want to start going the other way? If your wife got a new makeover but then gained 35lbs the next day would u b happy about that?

cf in the pyramid structure are a gimmick, has anyone had a xp pyramid in their hands, increadible light. cf are just going to make that piece more expensive. have you seen a cf hockeystick break, it just snaps of, the aluminium pipe bends so you can still ride home.
Weight in pyramid parts are not in the pipes, it´s the brackets and they are still aluminium on the Poo Pro.

Í don´t know why people think there are more bracing on a 12 than a 08 xp.

they did some slight changes in the s-module thats it, not even close to 1/2lbs, it have more to do with manufacturing cost than strength.

anyone had a e-tec airbox with the headlights in their hands?? what about the ecm or just the tiny e-tec oil pump.

all the e-tec parts add weight but the chassie are the same, going to from 45 to 49 bottom gear with 104link chain will add more weight than the changes made in chassie.

the 08 had a very light track but it was no good, now we have a heavier track that works.

around here we have some trail riding to get to riding areas, on trails xp are good with the big dual cooler, the Poo Pro overheats if you look at a hardpacked trail.
the Pro does not have very long range before running out of fuel, even on wot the entire day there is a big difference betwen cfi800 and 800Re-tec.
