Well, It's been a couple years, riden hard, sometimes TOO hard. Time to redo frankensled. I'll have to admit, I made some error's in my chassis build last time. Not enough strength in the tail. So, This time I'm pulling out all the stops. Join me on my quest to make the ultimate S chassis Mtn sled.

Heres what I started with, A 380 fan chassis, from A to Z sled parts in Pritchard BC.

I'm going to build a boondocker style tunnel Reminiscent of Van Amburg's tunnels.

Main thing that happened to Frankensled V1 was I used ZX shocks on the front. They are 17" long. In order to make them fit, I cut off the stock mounts, and made a "saddle" that cradles the bellypan from underneath. One would think that this would be fine, a steel strap from upper shock to upper shock, going around the underneath. Well, in reality, this was BAD.
Turns out, the stock upper shock mounts put the uprights in a tension position. Cradling from underneath puts them in a compression position and both sides buckled. The upper bracing bent back, quite alot.
So, without massive refab, welling and bracing. and thusly, adding alot more weight, I can't use the ZX shocks. So, they are for sale <_<

Heres a pic of V1.0 and the buckling damage. I did not hit anyting in the front, Looks like its pushed back, but its acctually folded up and back, from them being under compression loads, not the tension which they need.

It's not much of a drawing, my CAD skills are iffy LOL But here's what the tunnel will look like. Not set on the color, Black/Red. But I dunno yet.

Ya, my 722. Same engine, tank and seat, track n skid from Frankie V1. new, belly pan, hood. mainly it's building the tunnel like how I should have in the first place. I would love to do a REV, but just lost my job, Mine closed down for winter, so it's sled build on a budget <_<

I'll be making rail extensions, Billet wheels and other goodies though. Just got a new Metal lathe before the job issues, so it will be put to work, as well as the CNC mill.

Absolutely not!! I have tried and tried, every single time I get my Summit pointed down the trail it veers off left or right through the trees, up the mountain, over the top, down the other side, not to be seen again for hours on end.....lol. I just love that problem.

OK guy's I need help here. I have settled on a Black/White theme. Now, I have black ski's, will get white loops, and Black Belly pan and a black BRTech Thrasher hood(similar plastic to belly pan). The dilema I got now, is with the chassis. Black chassis with white letters/head, OR White chassis with black letter's/head? Skidframe is also black, was thinking white slides.

I'll try to do out a couple jpgs form the autocad
