For 1200 owners please. Mileage goes up and the motor loosens, so give your latest figures please.

First tank of gas, 15mpg. GSX Ltds
I'd like to see it match my SDI at 18 on flat groomed trails. In 2 weeks I'll get 500 - 600 min. on it and hopefully the motor will loosen up like others say and it will get to 18 mpg

I've got approx 650 miles on my 1200 and am currently seeing 12.5 miles/gallon (or in metric 18.5L/100 kms). Not really what I was expecting. I'm hoping it'll improve somewhat as I put more and more miles on it.

My Gade 1200 and my sons 800r shorty are very close to using the same amount of gas. we got 15mpg yesterday in loose trail conditions. With the crappy gas we are getting in Maine we are happy with that. <_<

Just for comparison I owned an apex and put 4800 miles on last year. I currently have the 1200x shorty with 1400 miles and love it. Gas mileage is about 16 on good hardpack slightly lower as trails loosen up. Using about 1-1.25 gallons less fuel per 100 miles than the apexs I ride with. Also found the odometer to be very close to my gps. Yamaha odometers are also about 4-5 miles higher per 100 miles than my ski-doo which makes them look like their getting better mileage than they are. The lighter weight is noticable and I like the riding position better.

The gas mileage on my GSX has been somewhat lower than expected. My 800R with the SO aboard uses about a gallon less at the 140 mile mark. <_<

Haha That goes hand and hand with them having the fastest speedo's in the bus as well.
Speedo 126mph = gps 117mph

I thoght the 4 strokers were supposed to be so great on gas. My 08 800r consistently gets ~18 (have recorded 25mpg), depending on conditions. I don't ride her that hard, but I think that te mpg is really good. I figured the 1200 would be gettting in the 20's pretty much all around. Too many variables I guess.
