Be sure to check out the track smack forum, for the full story about the 2009 I-500.

We were following Dootalk.com sponsored RVP Racing Semi-pro, #4 Sam Vandeputte, who is also My teammate. He races semi-pro, I race Pro. I had broken my leg in day 1 of the race.

Man, he almost lost it on the first one.

That was pretty cool though. Thanks for sharing. How fast do those guys average?

The Top pros average between 60 and 70 mph over the 500 mile course.

I would be 1 or 2 MPH slower than the top pros, and Sam maybe 1 or 2 MPH slower than me.....in the past Sam has alwas been just a touch slower than me, maybe a minute or two slower over 500 miles....

Thanks for posting the video, very entertaining. I was there but spent most of the time in the fuel stop waiting for my son to come in for fuel. Drydahl had a great ride every day. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Ekre did not have to spend most of the 2nd day breaking trail and started in the middle of the pro sleds like Drydahl did.
