I'm about a 2 week sled trip away from ᖃᒪᓂᑦᑐᐊᖅ. I would love to make the trip, a month long sled trip. IDK if my renegade would make it though <_<

Where is Qamanittuaq? Is this Baker lake? Have any ppl skidoo'd to/from down south up to places like Baker Lake or Rankin? How do you get through all the trees -are there trails or something? Wow, I was just daydreaming of going down south xmas shopping! lol but i dunno the ice between sommerset and the mainland, maybe there is strong current that keeps it dangerous there... I am very curious...

I guess you could say I'm close to Baker Lake. I'm surprised that there is a NUNAVUT section on this site ... <_< We had a guy on a tundra years ago show up from Ontario as he rode around the Hudson's Bay. I've done a trip past Baker Lake from Rankin Inlet to hunt Umingmak(muskox) 2 springs ago. You can travel between communities here by snowmobile as there is no roads. I know guys who have gone from YK to Baker Lake or Rankin Inlet by snowmobile, trips from Churchill Manitoba up to Baker Lake or further to REpulse Bay. Cheers,

So what about gas on those long rides. does every community have gas available or do you have to request and reserve in advance. I'd love to do some trips like that. Southern Ont to Moosenee. I heard a few Americans went on to Churchill on Tundras. I'd love to read some trip reports.
