Here's the seat. I screwed up and ordered a Red trunk piece, dealer said they have a red n black one, I was like cool, ya, the red/black, turns out it was Red OR black LOL. Was special order, so I would have hadrestocking fee's. Thats OK, I'll paint it black. you can see the Tropical Orange Powder coat on the sail panel. I will be redoing it, it's not quite dark enough, 1 shade darker I think.

Here we have the carbon fiber I used to support the seat, Bolted and Epoxied to the seat bottom.

Here is my Formula SLS. The hood has been changed. I am doing some paint work on my other hood. I don't want the sled to look normal <_<

Sweet, Make sure you post some pics when your done. Always like to see custom sleds.

I like to see custom work too. It is also nice to see custom work done on older sleds. Just because they are older sleds doesn't mean they are dead

Really cool project! It's not very often we see a step by step build up on here.

I would say you are the first one to use a rev x seat. I wish I would have because a trail seat is so soft, but oh well. How much did that carbon fiber set you back and how well does it hold up the seat.

Rev X, Cool, <_< I got the seat on ebay, like $75 I think, The description was vauge, just Rev seat. LMAO. The carbon fiber, I used to buy sheets of it, 2'x3' sheets. I think it was $150 or so for one sheet. I was making RC car chassis and the like. But hard to compete against the Orientals with my one milling machine. I have maybe half a doz 13"x4" pieces left. The carbon really stiffened it up too. It will be strong enough with just the 2 rear mounting bolts to hold the rear in place.

Also If you want to get rid of the wrinkles at the top of the seat and fill it in a little to make it look more finished, pickup some pillow stuffing from a craftstore(walmart) and open up a few staples on topan stuff it in untill the wrinkles shrink enough to get hidden by the cowling. That is how I did mine and it turned out good.

P.S. how did you make the metal piece that you pc'd to cover the gap by the gas tank.

Ya, I was thinking about adding a little stuffing up front.

The sail panel is a chunk of thin Alum .040' I think, maybe thinner. Just hammer and dolly it till I got the right curves.

no, nothing as of late. The sheet of Alum is on order for the tunnel, and I have finally got all my pieces fro the new TIG welder. Got a Lincoln Square wave 175 TIG unit at a garage sale, but had no cables, no tig equip, nothin, So, after spending $500+ to get all the TIG stuff, I got to learn to TIG <_<

OK, just an update, not alot happening on the sled, Made a Porch and started expanding my Powdercoat shop. And started buolding a partition wall in the house with a 110Gallon aquariun in it. I gto WAYYYYY to many projects HAHAHA. But, I have gotten a little TIG welding done. basically practacing and going over some of the stock welds on my bulkhead that cracked form 10 years of ditch banging. Not the easiest thing TIG welding, especially with Dirty Aluminum. But I am getting better. Once I feel confidant enough, I'll weld in the extra length to accept the new reward Skid mounting point. I have started welding closed some of the Rivet holes and such that I will not be using. The swaybar mounting home was the last thing I closed up today. Maybe get some pics tomorrow.

Got my HPG shock from iansmxz the other day. FREAKIN SWEET I have to say. They should be a perfect match. Ian set the valving to my riding style and upped the spring rate a little for them awesome Cornice drops that I told my Wife I "won't" be doing
