Hello everyone, I am new to thje forum as I just purhased a new '17 Expedition LE 900 ACE. Was out riding today getting some miles on the sled for the break in. Went to put some gas in the tank and made the dreadful mistake of sitting down on the seat while filling. Gas came shooting out of the tank fill and all over the sled and myself. The other thing I noticed is the vent whistles whenever i sit down on the seat. Is there a fuel bladder under the seat? What gives?

The tank is under the front seat.  The whistling only happens some days on my 2015.

Never a good idea to fill a modern snowmobile while sitting on it.

The whistling is from the tank vent. Next time you hear it loosen the fuel cap for a second to vent the tank and then retighten. The whistling should disappear.

Whistling is normal though, it's no cause for concern.  They do it all the time

Note that even on older sleds it's not a good idea to 'change' what the status quo is while filling until you put the cap on.

If you are sitting on the sled, stay there - If not, stay off. :)

My 2005 Expedition has the tank in front of the rider (under the rear hood I guess you'd say) and although it won't

splash as much as the newer sleds you'll still get splashed on - Not from compressing the tank (like could happen

on the tank under seat ones), but just from jostling the gas, air bubbles, etc.
