Hey everyone after being off a sled for a year or two I'm hoping back on. I'm trying to figure out the market and zero in on one, my last sled I had was a 12 mxzx 800 should have kept it but I got mad when the payment book showed and winter didn't. Ironically this winter isnt going well, maybe its me.....

Choices,

12 MXZX 800 2400 miles, recall with less then 100 miles, (makes me nervous) has 2 up seat and track is studded. $7400 I'm leaning for 7, partial to this its exactly what I had.

13 Mxz TNT 800 900 miles, total virgin except for shield hookup. $7500

16 Blizzard 100 miles led light, bag, bottom skid plate, extra belt and key. 10500

16 Mxz TNT 800 New @ dealer 9600 no extra's But its new.

I Just can;t figure it out at this point so i'm open to thoughts,

Does the 12 trump the 13 because its a X even if it has a few more miles?

I don't have any of these so take this with a grain of salt but, between the first two i would take the 13 with a third of the miles and put some different shocks on it

I'd go new and make it yours and have a warranty. If your taking a loan the interest rate could be lower which can end up costing you less in the long run. New is new, I hate owning someone else's lemon or headache.

My brother and I just went though this, he was looking for a used sled for $3500 and he crept into the $7000 range and at that point he went with the new leftover TNT for $9500. He's been a finance manager for 10 years so he understands cost up front and in the backend, he was able to justify getting the new sled with 0 percent interest put him at the same payment or maybe a couple bucks more than a used sled at 7.9 percent. It's the XS platform, it has "R-Motion" and the shocks looks to be similar to what your old sled "X" model had (Im not sure if comparable, but they look the same to me). Good luck man, I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you choose.

I would go for the '16 TNT you could put those accessories on the sled for under $900 and you get piece of mind of a brand new sled with warranty.

Ok so after some thing im lea ing for sure toward the newer chassis, so my question

The 13 might go for 7 even
The 16 tnt just dropped to 9 even, so about 9900 with taxes, and about a total of 3000 swing for new vs 900 miles?

Thoughts?

Not sure about NY but in WI you still have to pay tax when you register so that's kind of a wash. I guess it comes down to risk. With the 2k you save you could self insure if something happens to the used sled, or spend the extra up front on the new one.
