With a multimeter you measure the resistance of each injector. Unplug the pto side injector connector while pressing in the locking clip. Then probe the two terminals of the injector. It should measure around 14.5 ohm.

The two high speed injectors in the middle are the tough ones to unlock the connector. You could also take the measurements from the large 8 pin injector connector.

Only while the engine is stopped. Check the manual to see what the plug looks like. I think you will find it much easier to test, although you will probably need to make a couple test wires to fit the connector. First take the measurement cold, then warm-up the engine, stop the engine and take another measurement.

The best way to see the electrical is the mechanics of it, because that is the most complicated part. Finding the correct connector and unplugging it, is a mechanical task. Stripping a short piece of wire or using a paper clip to fit the small female Deutsch connectors is mechanical. Turning on the Multimeter, choosing the correct setting, probing the short pieces of wire are mechanical tasks. Reading a display is nothing more than reading the AFG or Volt Gauge. Interpreting the readings is electrical, but that can also be made easy by simply comparing a set of readings from one component to another such as two High Speed Injectors. All that we are looking for is a discrepancy, something that doesn't look right. Over 90% of problems, any problem in life, are easy to troubleshoot. And that's my Saturday sermon ;)

While there is still a big question mark revolving the use of an ERAVE Pilot Light, her is an example where it could be useful.

Summit_800 with his 2008 800R and Big Bore 860 kit is having trouble confirming when the ERAVE were opening.

I think there is some importance to some comparisons with other Doo motors. I think the 1000 suffers from a reputation it doesn't deserve, because there are a whole lot of owners who have never had the failures, or repeat failures, and many who've rebuilt and gone thousands of hard miles without issue. Then there are others who've gotten 10 miles and done it 3 times over.

For some reason Doo gets completely off the hook by so many for their 800's which have had the same stupid issues for 14 years. Now add the 850's, which are burning to the ground at an alarming rate and their incredibly wobbly clutch which everyone thinks they are only eating belts with, by no means is that putting unreal stress on the crank and bearings. So why is the 1000 the "edit for bad language" child again?
