Picked up a 95 F3

So for the past year or so I have been keeping an eye on the local Wisconsin Craigslist for a 95 F3. Decided to put up a wanted ad on Craigslist just to see if any were really out and after a few weeks or so someone actually answered. Lo and behold it was the real deal with the original engine. It's rough around the edges but I can't wait to get started on the restoration this summer and bring it back to the screaming beast it was meant to be! This one is serial #248 of 500. I do need some parts(can get part #'s for you), if anyone has a new seat or seat cover and a near mint tank shroud or knows where to get one it would be greatly appreciated! I do plan on updating the resto process on here as I get into it for anyone interested.

Like it. How's the motor?
Motor needs a rebuild which I knew. Going to be sending the crank off hopefully sometime this month to be redone. It does need an original cylinder reniked but I have a few 96's I'll put in the center. New head bolts and cylinder bolts will be put in and the head is going to be repainted.

Congrats on your find!!! Looking forward to updates as you resurrect this beast.
Thanks man! Plenty of updates to come. Probably won't be for a few months yet. Still in the process of hunting down parts

Funny, I have a 1997 F3, these things look like they have not changed. Not sure if I got lucky or what but mine is a tank! Nothing stops it, I did melt the plug out of the electrical side of stator, clip rusted and broke causing it to go down on motor and melt. Lost all lights, took a day to find and 4.69 to fix (not really found a $20.00 bill that day) Love the sled, my retired buddy rides it. Figured he's old and won't beat on it. His first year of snowmobiling. Brought him to Chautauqua, where I'm a member he loved it. Been out twice (no snow here) he watches his weather on phone everyday wanting to go back. I created a monster!

If anyone out there needs a sandcast case for a 95 F3, now that I have 3 I would consider selling one at the right price! This one is missing the water pump cover which is different from 96 but a 96 could possibly be made to fit with some modifications. PM or email me sledmen9@gmail.com

Have a question for you 95.5 nuts out there. When they made the Canadian and US production of these did they go from 1-360 US then 361-500 Canadian or did they both restart back at 1 for each run? If a Canadian version owner out there can chime in that would be cool! First 4 numbers of CA version VIN is 1038

If the Canadian version was a separate model number they would have started back over at 001. I was under the impression that there was only one model number 95.5 Form III

Before I bought these I emailed the bombardier museum out of curiosity for some of the production #'s for a few of the rare sleds they made in the 90s. I included the 95.5 in the list and it came back as 360 units to the US and 140 the Canada. Guess ya learn somethin new everyday
