Had an entire day free without work finally!   first day free since I got sled, and this past week was nuts working on sled every night til wee hours after working all day!

So today I was able to start working on the remaining items i had left to do.....

Installing leaner Etec Side panels on the XS 1200:

Parts needed:

-Muffler vent on right side panel --- 517304935

-panel -Black LH --- 517304804

-panel -Black RH ---517304801

-graphics X package left and right

-14  3/16'' Rivets

-8 Backer washers

-7 push nuts

Side panel discussion: VIDEO

Lay out the panel on a soft towel on a work table to make it easier....

Start by locating all the rivets that need to be drilled out, they are all same 3/16" size that are used on snow flap. Also locate the ones that need backer washers, and the others that have a backer plate.  The backer plates get re-used from the original panels.

Upper and lower side panels separated: VIDEO

First pic is the rubber hood latch, we need to swap these over from old panels to the new panel, its a torx screw, you can grab the back with plyers to hold it when loosening.

2nd pic is showing the built in backer plates in certain areas...we will reuse these in 3 areas on the new etec panels due to the fact you cannot get a backer washer into specific spots.

Prepare new panel....I left the tape/mask on them so they are protected while working on them, but be sure to have them on a soft towel so they dont get beat up.
