Brought home a new project this weekend.

This thing is in sorry shape, and the price reflected it. I picked it up for $5900 with the turbo already in it.

Here is what I am starting with: (I will warn you, this thing is a MESS) It started life as a 2009 Ski-Doo TNT 1200.

8FQ4gH.jpg

dxkCHt.jpg

Here is the mess I was referring to

Not so bad here, belly pan broken and sheet metal bent.

2zSyWi.jpg

This is a cluster that is getting cleaned up, connections soldered and excess wire removed.

RySFzR.jpg

There must be about 30ft of wire than can be removed from this thing. This is what was under the console when I removed it.

aKGKI5.jpg

While this piece was functional, it wasn't very solid and the headlights bounced back and forth.

YtZNnX.jpg

At some point the controller must have gotten hit, it looks like was glued back together...poorly. I won't EVEN the extensive use of zip ties to hold it all together....LOL

OdqCdb.jpg

Scotch locks and non-waterproof connectors.....NAW! Don't do this! EVER!

TS5Bre.jpg

Another cluster of wiring. No solder, no shrink wrap.....

LG7Uq6.jpg

Somebody must have got a smoking deal on zip ties....I can probably drop 10lbs just by getting rid of those....LOL

0sIlgc.jpg

The back side of fuse block

7Fj0p4.jpg

Not ONLY zip ties, mind you.....but bungie cords as well hold this together.

Madness is the gift that has been given to me...

Your coming over from the 1000sdi forum, once you get that thing running right, you won't go back to a Mach z.

The G-module is straight, and the bulkhead is not bent so I have a good base to start with.

YC6XNY.jpg

I will be getting rid of these things....I never like C&A Pros....way too much effort to steer them.

pN54wF.jpg

Skid looks OK and straight (if anyone is interested in that, too)  I won't be using it.  A couple of wheels need new bearings.

H6I7cq.jpg

There is very little, if any, of the hyfax left

qnDpSB.jpg

The LH control is broken apart, not just the high beam switch, but part of the panel is broken

IPm6cS.jpg

The rear snow flap has typical "got caught up in the tunnel with studs" abuse.  The rear bumper is caved in

yhmY2F.jpg

OK...so all that stuff will be fixed and this will be converted to a Renegade sled.

6fp667.jpg

Here is what else it will get:

It will get the full treatment. Everything blacked out in matte finish.

It will also get stretched to a Renega...de status with new cooler, new skid, new track and a custom tunnel. Also, will be whipping up a custom front bash bumper.

Going to do a new one-off running board on this one and a custom seat.

This project is being dubbed Project Nighthawk in honor of the Locckhead F-117 Stealth Nighthawk.

I already ordered a set of Z-Broz 43" a-arms, Grip-N-Rip braces, Straightline Performance bulkhead bracing, a custom seat (already at Earl Shaw's shop getting covered), a custom front bash guard, everything powder-coated matte black, Tricked Toys matte black billet wheels, a 2015 tail-light snow flap,  GPS & Mount kit.

I will also be bending up my own tunnel and using the newer style cooler from 2010 and newer's.  I also going to whipping up some one-off custom running boards and edge rails.

To kind of give you guys an idea, this was my last project....what it started as:

k9k2By.jpg

rC79uE.jpg

Here is what it ended up as:

Yeah.  Finally peer pressure got me in an XP/XR platform.  The MACH is up for sale and if doesn't sell will be going to Hay Days....and not coming home....LOL

Holy cow is that ever a cluster of wires and zip ties! That thing was ridden hard and put away wet for sure...............pretty bad when my 99 ZX MXZ is in better shape than that after 15 years lol!

After watching all your other builds I have no doubt that this sled will look Amazing when your done with it.

That looks like a stage 2 that was running around here in Michigan? Any chance that that sled spent time here? I see it has non-Michigan registration now.
