Looks like rain up to 8000 feet over the last couple of days. Should be snow by Saturday morning.

Looks like snow from about 5000 feet for the west slope of the northern Sierras by the end of today, 4-12-06. Calling for a total accumulation of 18" or so.
The grooming program is still operating, but it is not known for how much longer.

Thanks PC for getting this started, hopefully we'll get some more in California to chime in:
Last weekend in So. Sierras- Sherman Pass area:
Snowline around 6000.. Trail 101 west trailhead moved up to North Meadow Jeep Trail.. Some pavement showing in first 1/4 mile and near Bald Mountain... Sherman snow pole is around 6ft...
Temps were 25 night and 45 day at 8000 ft. Some grooming earlier in the week with about 10" new on 4-5-06.
Trails were in good condition considering night freeze and afternoon thaw. Morning ride with frozen grooves and considerable hard crust turned to wet and heavy, especially in the turns (watch that push). Off trail by late morning was good, especially at 9000+.
Past week has been warm, but new storm started in late Thursday and most of today. Unsure of snow conditions as of yet. Groomer was still parked at trailhead as of Sunday, so operations should still be up depending on snowfall.
I'll take it for middle of April!
Mike
