Haven't seen any new trail reports since the weekend. Hopefully some of you locals can fill me in on which trail system us currently in the best shape as we are hoping to get a ride in this Friday.

I was up in that area last week Thursday and Friday. Trails were awesome Thursday, Friday afternoon, things tended to get beat up pretty bad, but still very ride able. Conditions were the best on the Blue Bear loop in and around Mancelona. Everyone said lots of icy corners, I didn't find very many. Out of the 250 miles we rode, I found maybe a dozen icy corners on my non-studded RenegadeXP.
Gaylord/Waters/Greyling trail was BAD. Lots of washboard, mud holes, muddy lakes on the trail, and just plan no snow left in a lot of spaces. It was Sno-X weekend last weekend, so I think a lot of the spectators came up Friday and rode the trails, so it shouldn't be as crowded this weekend...
Traffic was pretty heavy on friday. Almost nobody else out there on Thursday. Saturday, it was very cold, like 8 degrees, so probably more icy spots, but we didn't ride.

Friday and Saturday I rode from Wellston to Maple City. From Thompsonville to Maple City had good snow.

Sounds like Graying has suspended grooming until at least Friday. The current John Dee forcast looks more favorable to the Southwest than the Northwest so it looks likew the big question now is North from Baldwin or South? Definately more trails to the North, but sounds like more snow to the South...

Sounds like the Caddy trails are holding up better then the Gaylord area trails. Not sure how they are since riding Sat. They were ridable on Sat. but beat up (no grooming, too warm).

They are grooming the Caddy area trails. Bro in law says they look to be in good shape, groomed and white.

Anywhere you go getting off trail is going to be the ticket for good snow.....

Trails around Gaylord, Atlanta, Lewiston, and Grayling are BAD...even the hard pack base is gone for the most part in a lot of the areas...so lots of MUD riding. Heard from friends that went north and west of Gaylord towards Mancelona, Alba, Indian River, and Charlevoix...they found much better conditions.
Personally...we are going up next Thursday, the 4th, (put off going to our cabin in Grayling this weekend) to Munising and riding the U.P. for the rest of the season. Have to drive 3 1/2 hours further but betting the conditions will be much better and less riders.

I just did a post, but Traverse City area is good. Get east of here and no, even trusty Mancelona has less snow than we do. We do have snow in the forecast.
I drove by car to Atlanta on Saturday and Gaylord was quite thin. I crossed the trail a few times and it was very dirty and lots of sleds out.
As someone said, Maple city/Empire area good. Empire area received 7" of snow a few days ago. I don't know if Ludington has trails, but they received 10".

Rode Cadillac to Baldwin Friday and Sat. Put on 200 miles. Very good trails friday and sat morning. By sat afternoon the trails were turning to slush and getting bad fast! Trails were pretty thin in spots between Carrieville and m-37 in some spots. There seemed to be more snow on the tails north of about luther. White pine out of Cadillac had sections with zero snow and should be avoided at all costs. (not rideable). Get up there and ride between irons cadillac and baldwin now. The trails might not last too long with the warm up.......

Don't even bother thinking about the Jordan Valley stuff. The trails are JUNK.
We rode about 2 miles of one Friday afternoon to connect to another off trail area and cooling was slim to nil. Its got a great ice base, but will need a good 6" of snow to be rideable IMO.
