My Dad and I are heading out to the Snowy Range in WY next week!! Just looking for snow reports and see where to go?? We are staying at Albany Lodge. Looking for back country powder the deeper the better no trail riding we get plenty of that here in MN and some big hills and chutes!! Any info will be helpful!! thanks

Snow is unreal right now, 30" of new, you might have a little trouble with a stock renegade track today, but next week could be totally different, good luck, Albany is a good place to stay

If your wanting to ride chutes and big hills, I hope you take an AVY CLASS and carry a BEACON, SHOVEL, AND PROBE!!! "edit for bad language" HAPPENS!!!

Green Rocks parking area at the end of the road (high way 130) above Centennial.

The one problem with staying in Albany, is that you have to ride a fair amount of trail to get up on top. Much less when you take off from Green Rocks. But it is all interesting country and the trail is basically a winding mountain road.

And riding with a knowledgeable guy for a couple of days is time well spent. There are several slopes that slide out there. Beacons, probes and shovels are mandatory of course.
